Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG). A taxi from the airport to Prague centre will cost about 1,000-1,200 CZK (Czech Koruna) or approximately $55 USD.
Please note: At the end of your trip, a private shuttle will take you to Wien Westbahnhof Train Station in Vienna, Austria.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you in front of the Fantova kavárna (Fantova Café) at the Prague’s Main Railway station (Wilsonova street 300, 110 00, Prague) at 9:00 AM on the first day of the trip. Fantova kavárna is in the historical building of the station, at the original main entrance. You'll shuttle two hours to the charming village of Holašovice for delicious lunch at a typical Czech hospoda. Please have your first-day cycling clothes and riding gear easily accessible, separate from your luggage. After lunch, your guides will do a bike fit before you begin your day’s ride through the Bohemian countryside.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Hotel Bellevue (+420 380 720 177), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. A taxi from the Prague train station to the ride start or first hotel will take about two and a half hours and cost around 300€.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 11:00 AM at the Richard Lowenherz Hotel. A private shuttle will take you to Wein Westbahnhof Train station in Vienna, arriving at approximately 12:00 PM. Please do not schedule departing trains prior to 3:00 PM.

Dobrý den! Welcome to your Prague to Vienna bike tour! After a private two-hour shuttle, you will arrive to the small, charming village of Holašovice, which is a UNESCO world heritage site known for its authentic Folk Baroque architecture. Then you enjoy a delicious and hearty lunch at a typical Czech hospoda, you’ll change into your cycling gear and your Trek Travel guides will spend some time familiarising you with your Trek bicycle, making any final adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. You'll then have a chance to spin your legs on a beautiful warm-up ride in the Bohemian countryside before spending the evening getting to know your new friends at one of the best restaurants in Český Krumlov, your home for the next two nights.

Today’s ride follows the Vltava River south to the quiet and historic town of Rožemberk. Continuing along the riverbank, you’ll ride beneath the expansive 13th-century Cistercian monastery in Vyššà Brod before arriving on the shores of the stunning Lake Lipno. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice and soak in the sun on a waterfront patio or beach. The ride back takes us over rolling forest and farmland back to Český Krumlov. This evening, our long-time friend and local guide will meet the group for a lively, historic walking tour of Český Krumlov, another UNESCO world heritage site and an outstanding example of a small central European town and castle, highlighting Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural elements. Afterward, explore Český Krumlov and have dinner on your own in this lovely and colourful medieval town.

Overview
Today you’ll head south into the picturesque Waldviertel region of northern Austria. Before leaving, you’ll enjoy one last spin through the patchwork patterns and vivid colors of the southern Czech countryside. Just a few miles before the border we will enjoy our last lunch of rich Czech specialties. Led by your Trek Travel guides, you and your traveling companions will cross this historical border into Austria by bike. The nearby town of Weitra and its historic Altstadt (old town) beckon and are the perfect introduction to the country. The afternoon is yours to explore any way you wish. Choose to spend the rest of the day following quiet, winding roads through medieval villages, lush farmland, and dense forest, or opt for a shuttle directly to tonight’s hotel, Schlosshotel Rosenau. Tonight, we will transition to Austrian cuisine when we’ll enjoy regional specialties for dinner at our hotel.

We’ll make our way to the picturesque town of Zwettl for lunch, where you can explore the streets and maybe even enjoy a cold beer—Zwettl is home to one of Austria’s largest and oldest breweries, Zwettler Dämmerschoppen, after all! After lunch, a gentle pedal or short shuttle will take you back to Schloss Rosenau, where you can unwind and enjoy the castle grounds, indulge in the spa, or take a refreshing dip in the natural pond. Long gradual downhills bring you to Austria’s famed Wachau region, where vineyards blanket the hillsides and fall steeply into the winding Danube river. Once on the valley floor, you’ll ride through Krems, a bustling university town, toward today’s destination of the riverside village of Dürnstein. If there’s time, visit the ruins overlooking the town or stroll along the cobblestone streets. This evening we will enjoy wine-paired dinner in the Roman-era cellar of the oldest winery in Austria. We’ll toast our week together as we dine on fresh local family-style meal paired with the region’s best wines.
