Meet Terra James, Trek Travel guide

Terra James

What I Love:

Learning! Basically anything new is intriguing. The process from ignorance to expert is exciting and keeps me going. I'm most passionate about meeting new people, bikes, good food and drink, cultures, lifestyles, traveling, photography, psychology, reading, and anything outdoors.

Riding with TT Since:

2014

Trek Travel Role:

Guide

My Favorite Ride:

There are a few really memorable races, but for a ride it would have to be the solo self-supported ride up Haleakala on Maui! Or Mount Lemmon in Arizona when I got to descend with a men's pro team.

My Rides:

FOCUS Izalco (Road), FOCUS Mares (CX), Russ Denny Custom (Track)

Languages:

Ingles y un poco de espanol. Over the last few years I’ve spent a lot of time in South America learning about culture and Spanish as a second language.

In My Previous Life:

Senior Accountant...years and years of accounting. Beyond counting beans, I've been racing bikes for the last 6 years. I started on the velodrome and took up road (my favorite), cyclocross, and mountain. I had the privilege of being treasurer for the Minnesota Cycling Federation for several years and led a small women's team in MN. Bikes will always be a part of my life! 2017 will be my 4th year of guiding cyclists and tipping back glasses. Through the years, I’ve been lucky enough to guide over 430 guests spread between 3 continents.
