Welcome to the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes and the hub of the final mountain stages of this year’s Tour de France. After a 2-hour private shuttle from Annecy to the heart of the mountains, we'll enjoy a light lunch and professional bike fit on your award-winning Trek Domane. Today's ride is a stunning loop into the Vanoise National Park which is home to more than 100 peaks surpassing 9,000 feet and also France’s largest colony of bouquetins (Alpine ibexes). The chic ski town of Tignes is your home for the next three nights where you’ll enjoy a warm welcome and incredible views of the mountains that surround you. This evening we'll gather for a cocktail and to discuss the week ahead before indulging in the famous Savoie cuisine of the region. Consider it fuel for a big day, as we're headed to ride one of the race's hors categorie climbs ahead of the peloton tomorrow.

Today's destination is the Cormet de Roselend, which lies between the Beaufortain and Mont Blanc mountain ranges. This summit, last crossed in 2009, has been featured ten times during the Tour de France. The climb winds alongside the Torrent des Glaciers and commands glorious views of the hairpins to come, kicking up to a challenging 8% before the summit. Rest your legs and enjoy lunch with a view of the surrounding peaks that will serve as the battleground for the climbers hoping to parade the yellow jersey into Paris. This afternoon, return to the hotel in time to watch final stages of the race finish into Gap. Tonight, we’ll stroll into town to enjoy dinner at a local bistro.

After a hearty alpine breakfast, we'll set off on the road less traveled into the majestic peaks of the Graian Alps that soar above 12,000 feet and divide the Savoie department in France and Aosta Valley in Italy. Today's climb is the Col de l’Iseran, the Alps' highest paved mountain pass at 9087 feet and an iconic climb for cyclists the world over. This Tour classic has been featured eight times before, but only twice from the south side and will serve as the penultimate climb of Stage 20 of this year’s race. Choose to add some more miles and descend to Bonneval Sur Arc to climb the col in the same direction as the pros tomorrow, or return directly to the hotel and the TV to watch the climbers battle it out on the Col du Galibier and the finish of Stage 18. The night is yours to wander into town and discover your own restaurant for dinner. Be sure to rest up and refuel and be ready for live race action tomorrow!

The summer months can bring warm days, ranging from the mid-60s to low-80s, with evenings dropping to the mid-50s to mid-60s. When traveling in the mountainous regions of France, it is best to be prepared for variable conditions, as weather can change very quickly, and there is always the chance of snow and rain. We recommend always traveling with rain gear, as well as plenty of breathable layers to provide warmth should the temperature drop. Packing List
