Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Embassy Suites Downtown Riverplace at noon. Upon arrival, your guides will spend some time making sure that you are properly fitted to your bike, go over some important safety information, provide a detailed route description with options and familiarize you with our Garmin 1030 used for navigation. Your ride begins from the hotel as we head north along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, parallel to the Reedy River. You'll pass Furman University along the way before starting the 2.2 mile climb to the top of Paris Mountain, averaging 7% to the summit. Enjoy some undulating terrain as you ride the ridgeline before you are finally rewarded for your efforts and you descend back to the valley floor. The 20-mile option brings you back to your hotel via North Main Street with a couple of short steep climbs or you can ride through the neighborhoods at the base of Paris Mountain bringing you back to Greenville via the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Stop at the Swamp Rabbit Café for a coffee and snacks, the local cyclists' favorite. Today's ride is supported by van and will have snacks and drinks available at various points along the way. Alternatively, choose to check-in to your hotel room and join the group later for dinner to discuss the excitement ahead.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED

Gratuities for your Trek Travel guides are not included in your trip price. We recommend tipping 7.5-10% of your trip price for the guide team. Local currency is preferred and unless you want to tip separately, guides will divide tips amongst themselves. Please tip your guides at your discretion, based on their level of professionalism, guest care, and service.

The terrain is consistently rolling, with generally quiet and winding roads. Most climbs are intermediate in length and steepness. Greenville Ride Camp Lite is best suited for our Type 2 Riders.
NON-RIDING ACTIVITIES:
On most Trek Travel trips, we offer non-riding options for riders who want to take the afternoon off, or travel companions who want to spend little or no time in the saddle. Non-riders are welcome on a Ride Camp Lite trip if they are staying in the same room with a riding guest. The riding guest will be required to pay the single supplement fee for a private room and a meal package ($350 for 7-day trips and $200 for 4-day trips) for the non-rider to dine with the group. Please contact a trip consultant for details and to book a non-riding companion. Some non-riding options on this trip are:

Arriving

We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into the Greenville International Airport (GSP), approximately thirteen miles from downtown Greenville.

Most major airlines offer service to this airport. To travel to the hotel from Greenville International Airport (GSP) we suggest a local taxi or car rental.

Your Trek Travel staff will meet you at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Downtown Riverplace at noon. Upon meeting your guides and getting checked into the hotel, we will ensure you have a great fit to your Trek bike for the week and give you a few pointers before you head off on a self-guided warm up ride.

If you will be late for the meeting time, or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip start with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call our hotel, Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Downtown Riverplace (864-263-4800) and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.

Leaving

You will say farewell to your guides after dinner before your departure day. There are no rides on departure days. Extensions may be available upon request but cannot be guaranteed before your trip begins.
