This morning, meet your guides in downtown Reykjavik for a 45 minute shuttle to the start of today's ride. Today we'll ride Þingvellir National Park where the North American and European tectonic plates clash together. One thing that makes it a spectacular geological site is that the plates keep drifting apart by an average 2.5 cm per year or 25 km per million years! Þingvellir has been one of the most popular attractions in Iceland for decades due to its rich history and striking landscape. On our ride, we'll pedal exciting trails and to a secret spot or two right inside the famous fissure of Almannagjá, placing you literally between the two massive tectonic plates. You will experience a fantastic ride where we'll peacefully enjoy the breathtaking landscape, far from the crowd. For a perfect ending to the day, we‘ll visit the Fontana Spa, a natural hot spring located in the small village of Laugarvatn where we spend the night.

Explore Iceland from the amazing vantage that stand up paddleboards can offer. This sport has taken the world by storm and has become one of the most unique ways to explore the southern coast of Iceland. We'll embark on a morning paddle before grabbing lunch and hopping in the saddle for our afternoon bike ride to Iceland's Golden Circle (the Old Faithful of Iceland). We start with a visit to Gullfoss (The Golden Waterfall) Iceland´s most famous waterfall, which has also been long regarded as the most beautiful. We then take a one hour bike tour in the valley of Haukadalur, home to the most famous spouting hot spring in the world and the origin of the international word "geyser." Geysir's bowl is 18 meters across, and has been know to spout up to 60 meters. Today, Geysir does not erupt any longer but the nearby hot spring "Strokkur", spouts up to 30 meters every ten minutes. Take the afternoon to explore this natural wonder before heading back to our hotel to relax, read a book, or take an evening hike under the midnight sun. Tonight, enjoy a delicious meal back at our hotel.

Saddle up for an iconic Icelandic journey. Today's horseback ride suits both novices and more experienced riders alike. We'll ride at a leisurely tölt–the smooth running gait characteristic of the Iceland horse–from the farm of Austvadsholt in the shadows of Hekla volcano, surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes and accompanied by the burbling of the river flowing next to us. All around, gaze upon fields of graceful mares, powerful stallions and this year’s long-legged foals frolicking. Today's ride is followed by home-baked treats back at the farm. Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner at our next hotel, Hrifunes Guesthouse, prepared just for you by your hosts.

Today we will ride in the magical area of Lakagígar. We cross what seems like another planet, through endless moss-covered lava fields created out of the Laki eruption of 1783. This eruption remains still the world’s largest and shaped the entire landscape you see. Finish up today's ride literally right at the front door of our mystic country lodge. Savor a delicious home-cooked dinner and be sure to get some rest this evening before another adventurous day tomorrow.

This morning, we'll get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore Skaftafell: a wilderness area in Iceland's famous Vatnajökull National Park. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Skaftafellsjökull and Svínafellsjökull glaciers through the mist while hiking to Kristínartindar Mountain and to the Svartifoss waterfall, which tumbles over proud black basalt columns. We'll skirt Morsárdalur Valley and the Bæjarstaðarskógur woodlands that lie to the west and gaze east at the giant Öræfajökull Volcano, with its soaring, ice-capped peak, Hvannadalshnúkur. Tonight, we'll gather together one last time to toast a week of rugged Icelandic adventure and prepare for one last ride before embarking on our journey home.

Rise early for breakfast and hop in the van for a 1-hour drive to Vik, a small village surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and dramatic, steep mountains on the other. We start the day in Vik by riding up Mt. Reynisfjall: a 340-meter tuff mountain arising out of a volcanic eruption from under a glacier in the penultimate Ice Age. During our ride on the top of the cliffs, we'll gain epic views over the black beach of Reynisfjara, including the 70 meter rock pillars that rise right out of the sea. After our ride, we'll hop back in the van and take a 2-hour drive back to the capital city of Reykjavík. This afternoon at 4:00 PM, we arrive to the CenterHotel Klopp in downtown and bid farewell to your guides and fellow travelers. It's never too early to start dreaming of a return trip back to this amazing island nation.
