Planning For Your Trip

Packing and Weather

Special race trips call for special bike setups. The Domane SL 7 Disc will be modified to handle the rigors of the Spring Classics. We recommend bringing your favorite saddle from home and SPD M540 mountain-style pedals and shoes for easy walking when you are off of the bike.

Spring in Belgium and France can bring all kinds of weather- cold, rain, wind, fog, or sun, therefore warm layers and a waterproof shell are highly recommended. Daytime temperatures are usually between 30F-60F. Packing List

Before and After Your Trip

before

Before: Oudenaarde or Ghent, Belgium

Oudenaarde is the perfect place to experience Belgium's art and cycling history. The city was once known for its stunning tapestry production, and today you can see some of those tapestries on display when you visit the Gothic-style town hall and its belfry, which were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. Cycing fans will also enjoy a museum dedicated entirely to Belgian cycling history and the Tour of Flanders. If you are looking for something different, Ghent is a 30-minute train ride from Oudenaarde. We recommend the following accommodations for your pre-trip hotel:

after

After: Brussels, Belgium

Brussels has many charming and beautiful attractions, with deeply ornate buildings on the Grand Place and the fish-and-crustacean overdose of St. Catherine’s Square. Stroll along and stop in for a drink at one of the many bars on Place St-Géry, or splurge on the trendy Rue Antoine Dansaert. We recommend the following accommodations for your post-trip hotel:
