Texas 4-Day Ride Camp Lite Bike Tour

Explore Texas Hill Country

The meandering roads, gentle ascents, and bike-friendly rural highways surrounding the Fredericksburg area are perfect for two wheels. Spend some time in the saddle building your base miles, riding the roads at your own pace, and enjoying the beauty that Hill Country has to offer. In Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg is a quaint city with a unique German flavor in it's delightful bakeries, it’s bustling Main Street, charming boutiques and heritage peach orchards. There are some memorable miles to be ridden and all against a backdrop of Texas wine country, lavender fields, beautiful rolling hills, short but punchy climbs, and thoroughly classic Texan ranches. Don't forget to stop in Luckenbach where "everybody's somebody," and pour one out for Waylon, Willie, and the Boys!

TERRAIN: HILLY
The road surface quality in Fredericksburg is predominantly comprised of chip seal surfaces and has numerous cattle guards. The terrain is consistently rolling, with quiet, narrow roads. Many climbs are relatively short and average around 6% so the climbing is accumulated throughout the ride. Texas Ride Camp Lite is best suited for our Type 2 Riders.
NON-RIDING ACTIVITIES:
On most Trek Travel trips, we offer non-riding options for riders who want to take the afternoon off, or travel companions who want to spend little or no time in the saddle. Non-riders are welcome on a Ride Camp Lite trip if they are staying in the same room with a riding guest. The riding guest will be required to pay the single supplement fee for a private room and a meal package ($350 for 7-day trips and $200 for 4-day trips) for the non-rider to dine with the group. Please contact a trip consultant for details and to book a non-riding companion. Some of these activities have additional costs and can be arranged through the hotel's concierge. Some non-riding options on this trip are:
  • Wine tasting

See itinerary for specific daily ride distances and elevation options. On all of our vacations, Trek Travel seeks to find quiet, paved secondary roads or bike paths to experience a region; busy roads are avoided as much as possible. Though our routes are well researched to provide the best possible riding experience, riders should be prepared for short sections of busy roads in order to get to the quiet country roads. Our itineraries are an approximation of our trips. Trek Travel strives to offer every guest a vacation of a lifetime on every trip. The routes, hotels, activities, etc. listed here may change at the discretion of the trip designer or guides to improve the trip experience.

Planning For Your Trip

Packing and Weather

The Fredericksburg area enjoys generally warm, dry weather which makes these rides particularly enjoyable. The fall can see the highs range from the high 60s to low 80s, while the lows are generally between 40 and 50 degrees. We always recommend bringing along riding layers and even a bit of rain gear so you can keep riding comfortably throughout the day. Packing List

Home to the University of Texas flagship campus, it's known for its live-music scene centered around country, blues, and rock. Its many parks and lakes are popular for hiking, biking, swimming, and boating. South of the city, Formula One's Circuit of the Americas raceway has hosted the United States Grand Prix.
