Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive in Provence at least one day prior to the start of your Tour de France bike tour, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Paris (CDG). From Paris, take a TGV train to Avignon, either from the TGV station at Charles de Gaulle Airport or from the Gare de Lyon in Paris. Please note that there are two train stations in Avignon—the TGV and the center station (Gare d'Avignon-Centre). To ensure a quicker journey, we advise you to book your ticket to arrive at the TGV station that is approximately five miles from the center station downtown. To reach Place Crillon, taxis are available for approximately 20€. There is also a frequent shuttle service for a few euros that connects the two train stations.
Train schedules are available and tickets can be booked directly online at www.trainline.com or using our in-house travel agent services. (Please note the train schedule changes frequently. Please consult the Trainline site for the most up-to-date schedule.)
Alternatively, you may fly into Marseille (MRS) or Nice (NCE) and take a train to Avignon. You will arrive at Avignon-Centre train station. To reach Place Crillon, taxis are available for approximately 10€.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you in the bus parking located in the north exit of the Avignon TGV Station at 11:00 AM on the first day of the trip. To find the north exit, follow signs to: Sortie Nord, the car rental area (location voitures) and to Parking P1. Exit the station and turn left in the direction of the large bus parking lot. Here the shuttle will be waiting for you with your Trek Travel guide just before your departure time. After a one hour shuttle by private coach, your Tour de France adventure begins! Enjoy a delicious lunch as your guides explain how the trip will unfold, and fit you to your Trek bike. Once everyone’s bike is ready you’ll be off to explore the quiet roads of Provence.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Hotel Crillon le Brave (+33 4 90 65 61 61), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. You may take a taxi to the first night’s hotel for approximately 100€.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 10:00 AM at Mandarin Oriental Paris with a check out by 12:00 PM. Please make your own onward travel arrangements to the airport, train station, or other destination of your choice.

Conquer the mighty Mont Ventoux and see how you stack up against the pros
Overview
Get ready for epic scenery and legendary riding today as we take on the Géant de Provence—the formidable Mont Ventoux—ourselves, just as the Tour de France climbers battled for yellow on these revered slopes yesterday. This 13.4-mile ascent has no flat sections and features an average grade of 10% over a relentless 6.2-mile stretch, leading into the famous "moonscape." What makes Ventoux truly challenging isn't just its steep grades, but its unpredictable weather—intense winds or heat can make this climb feel even tougher. We’ll set out early to give you the best chance for a memorable ascent. After reaching the summit and capturing the moment with a photo, we’ll descend to Malaucène for a well-earned bistro lunch. Feeling strong? Tackle Ventoux again from the opposite side for a double ascent, or enjoy a relaxing spin back to the hotel. This evening, you and your fellow cyclists are free to explore town and, with recommendations from your guides, choose a local spot for dinner.

Your Trek Travel guides will provide their signature support with rest stops and encouragement as you conquer the summit just hours before the pros. They’ve selected the perfect spot for lunch, where we’ll relax and soak in the anticipation of the race.
