The Sekishoin provides the unique experience to stay in a Buddhist temple at the Koya Mountain and is located conveniently near the main street. In this temple you’ll sleep on a futon bed that is laid out on tatami (woven-straw) matted floor in individual rooms with paper walls and private en suite bathrooms. Although simple and quite different than any western hotels, a trip to Japan isn’t complete without staying in at least one ryokan (traditional Japanese inn). Natural beauty offers a unique escape and total serenity, while morning meditation, Buddhist vegetarian cuisine, and sutra reading promise to relax and center you.
