Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Belmond El Encanto to start your Santa Barbara bike and wine tour. We'll begin with a bike fitting session before we set off for our first ride. Today’s relaxing warm-up ride features a mix of bike paths, views of the Pacific Ocean, and pedaling the palm-lined streets of the exclusive Hope Ranch neighborhood. If you want a few additional miles, the avid option features serene miles of bike path along Atascadero Creek to Goleta Beach. We’ll wrap up our ride with a late lunch in the heart of Santa Barbara’s art neighborhood, The Funk Zone. Then it’s time to check into the hotel and relax by the pool. This evening, you'll gather for social hour and dinner at the hotel, and your guides will give you an overview of what's in store for the rest of the week ahead.

Today you'll head out for a full day of exploring the American Riviera. After a casual warm-up along the coast, you'll wind your way back as you climb up Toro Canyon and make your way to the scenic terrace road called East Mountain Drive. This favorite local route is fun and challenging and will delight you with incredible views around every turn. After your ride, the rest of the afternoon is yours to explore Santa Barbara. Enjoy lunch at one of the many downtown cafes or linger at the hotel and pamper yourself with a spa treatment (spa cost not included; advance reservations recommended). Take advantage of the hotel's complimentary shuttle, delight in the city's vibrant culture, explore its fascinating history, or simply revel in its natural beauty. Before bidding farewell to Santa Barbara and continuing our journey into the Santa Ynez Wine Valley, you'll have the opportunity to take full advantage of your last day to soak up the city's charm. Enjoy the sun-kissed ambiance by lounging by the pool or embark on a leisurely bike ride through the quaint village of Montecito, passing by the picturesque Butterfly Beach. Immerse yourself in Santa Barbara's rich heritage by visiting the renowned Santa Barbara Mission, one of the historic missions established in California during the late 1700s. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch, exploring the culinary social scene and the iconic landmarks along State Street, including the stunning Art Deco-style Arlington Theatre and the beautifully restored Granada Theatre, both significant cultural treasures. For nature enthusiasts, the nearby hiking trails offer fantastic opportunities to appreciate the scenic coastline and marvel at the breathtaking views of the Channel Islands. As the afternoon unfolds, indulge in all that Santa Barbara has to offer before arriving back to the hotel where we will enjoy dinner at one of Santa Barbara's top-rated restaurants.

Following a 45-minute shuttle, you’ll set out on a stunning ride into the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley. A short spin brings you to the celebrated Santa Ynez Wine Country. This afternoon’s scenic ride will bring you to the charming town of Los Olivos and the outstanding Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, where you’ll spend your final two nights in truly pampered luxury and style. Mattei's Tavern is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing its cultural and historical significance. It stands as a testament to the region's heritage and the importance of the tavern in the development of Los Olivos. If you have the legs to continue riding, add an avid loop through the premier wine-growing valley of Ballard Canyon, or simply wander into Los Olivos to explore the town’s myriad of wine tasting rooms and then relax by the pool.

This morning, spin your wheels along the beautiful Foxen Canyon wine trail, a route that supports some of the most accomplished winemakers in California. Ride as far as you wish though seemingly endless vineyards and ranches before looping back toward Los Olivos to stop at the picturesque, family-run Fess Parker Winery. Here we’ll enjoy an exceptional lunch together, accompanied by a tasting of some of their small-lot wines. Enjoy your afternoon as you wish, perhaps taking a stroll into Los Olivos for some last-minute shopping or revive yourself with an all-natural treatment at The Lavender Barn. This is the hotel’s lavishly appointed spa which also houses a “water lounge” where you can bathe and relax in the open air. This evening, we'll enjoy a spectacular dinner at the esteemed Los Olivos Wine Merchant Café. Surrender your senses and taste the finest varietals of their own Bernat Estate wines. Once you’ve whet your palate, you’ll continue on to a beautiful dinner that showcases the produce harvested from the restaurant’s own organic farm for this truly unique harvest-to-table dining event. It’s our last morning in Los Olivos, so make sure you drink it all in. Soak up the sunshine by the pool or take a final spin to the quaint Danish-inspired town of Solvang, where you may want to sample a decadent pastry at one of the many local bakeries before returning to the hotel. You'll then have a chance to freshen up and check out of your room before guides will shuttle you to the Santa Barbara airport.
