Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays.
We recommend flying into Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) in Goleta, approximately eight miles from downtown Santa Barbara. From just outside baggage claim you can take a cab to the meeting location.
Due to better connections from most major cities, you may alternatively fly into Los Angeles (LAX) and take the Santa Barbara Airbus to Santa Barbara. Visit www.SBAirBus.com for more information. You may also book a private car service through SR Transportation at 805-708-1403. Again, please be sure to mention that you are a guest of Trek Travel for a discounted rate.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Belmond El Encanto (800 Alvarado Pl, Santa Barbara, CA) at 10:30 AM on the first day of the trip. Once everyone has arrived, Trek Travel guides will fit you to your bike before you set off on your first ride, followed by a quick lunch in Santa Barbara.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip starts with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, the Belmond El Encanto (805-845-5800), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.
Additional Departure Information
Your guides will provide a shuttle from the Inn at Mattai's Tavern to the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport departing at 12:00 PM. The drive will take approximately 45 minutes. From the airport, you may catch a flight to your next destination, pick up a rental car, or take a taxi to meet the Santa Barbara airbus in Goleta. If you are flying out today, please do not book a flight before 2:30 PM.
