Additional Arrival Information
For travelers coming from outside of Australia, we suggest arriving at Brisbane International Airport (BNE) located in Brisbane, which is serviced by 31 airlines offering flights to 50 domestic and 29 international destinations.
Taxis are available 24/7 from sheltered ranks right outside the Domestic and International Terminals. The journey to Byron Bay typically takes approximately two hours and is estimated to cost around 400 AUD. The airport is also served by all major car rental agencies.
You can hire an Uber from Level 2, take the lift or escalator down to Level 1, follow the Rideshare Booking signs towards the open-air car park on the left as you exit the Terminal building. You can use Uber’s fare estimator or your Rideshare app to work out the cost of your trip.
You can choose to take the bus, that costs approximately 75 AUD and takes four hours. Visit brisbane2byron.com for more information.
If you are heading into the center of Brisbane, train services run every 15 minutes during peak times and every 30 minutes off-peak periods. Brisbane Airtrain also connects into the Queensland Rail suburban network. Book your ticket on the Airtrain website and get your return journey free.
Alternatively, if you are traveling from within Australia or New Zealand, you have the option to fly into Gold Coast International Airport (OOL), which offers connections to 18 domestic and 12 international destinations.
