What Guests are Saying

Cinque Terre has a special place in my heart. Hiking through lemon groves and terraced vineyards along the rugged cliffs of the Italian Riviera rewards me every time with new postcard-worthy experiences. The untouched secluded bays of the Riviera with their crystal-clear waters, the colorful perched houses and the fishermen’s village atmosphere in the lovely harbors make me feel at peace and nourish my soul.

We really enjoyed the visit to the Limen organic winery. That lunch with the dramatic sea views was amazing. The group lunches and dinners were all very enjoyable. We had a great time on the trip.

Know Before You Go!

We want you to be fully prepared for you hiking and walking tour with us. This involves making sure that you choose the appropriate trip for you and that every aspect of your experience is flawless. Each Trek Travel trip is unique to ensure maximum enjoyment every time.

Your Trip Need to Knows:

  • The terrain on this trip falls under our classification of Level 3 as it relates to distance and elevation gain for all “Today’s Hike” options. However, many sections of the trails present uneven surfaces, steep stone steps (both going up and going down), and rugged, narrow paths which is what makes it a Level 3/4 trip. A good level of physical fitness and experience in hiking is recommended in order to fully enjoy the trip. If you want to experience a more accessible Level 3 hiking trip, we recommend you opt for our Tuscany Hiking & Walking Tour. Please also see our “Hiking + Walking Activity Level” section for more information.
  • For a comfortable hiking experience, we recommend wearing sturdy, waterproof hiking shoes with high ankle support.
  • Certain hikes on this trip may not be suitable for individuals experiencing vertigo.

Before and After Your Trip

FAQs

You'll find a beautiful, cool, and less crowded Cinque Terre in the months of September and October. The climate is tempered, favoured by the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains that shelter from the northern winds. The average daily temperature sits around 70°F (21°C) and the highs get up to 77ºF (25°C). You can still do some swimming this time of the year, with an average sea temperature of 72ºF (22°C). September is practically an extension of summer weather, with mostly sunny, warm days. However, rain is always a possibility so we recommend bringing a breathable, water-repellant jacket and shoes, as well as an umbrella. October tends to bring more rain but the trails, town piazzas, and seafronts are far less congested.
