Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA). From the airport, you can take the Bellair Airporter to Anacortes (we suggest making reservations by phone at 866-235-5247. See www.airporter.com for schedules). A one-way ticket costs $43 per person or $82 for a round trip.
Please note that the shuttle runs only four times daily and takes approximately two and a half hours to reach Anacortes, with a transfer in Burlington. The shuttle drops off at the Shell Station in downtown Anacortes (1312 Commercial Avenue), a half mile from the Ship Harbor Inn, where you will meet your guides on the first day of your trip. If you are not staying at the Ship Harbor Inn before the trip, we recommend calling a taxi on arrival to take you and your luggage to your hotel, and arranging transport for the following morning to meet the group.
If you choose to drive to Anacortes and need to leave a vehicle somewhere for the duration of the trip, we recommend parking it in the upper lot of the Anacortes Ferry Terminal Lot. The cost for the week is approximately $55. You must pay at one of the six electronic pay boxes with credit card before leaving the vehicle—parking spaces cannot be reserved in advance. After dropping off the car on the first day of the trip you should take a taxi to meet the group at Ship Harbor Inn. On the last day of the trip, your guides can drop you and your luggage off at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal Lot to retrieve your vehicle.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Ship Harbor Inn (5316 Ferry Terminal Rd, Anacortes, WA 98221) at 8:00 AM on the first day of the trip. Please come dressed in your cycling clothes with your riding gear easily accessible, separate from your luggage. Also in a separate bag from your main luggage, have a set of street clothes and shoes so you can easily change into them for the post-ride ferry crossing. Your guides will acquaint you with your bike and ensure you a comfortable fit before setting out on today’s ride.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, the Lakedale Resort (360-378-2350), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. Taxis are available to the Washington State Ferry Terminal in Anacortes to meet the group. You will need to be at the ferry terminal no later than 11:30 AM in order to meet your guides and board the ferry. If you are unable to make it to the ferry terminal by 11:30 AM, check the current (summer sailing) ferry schedule (www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule) for departures to Friday Harbor. You may call your guides or the Lakedale Resort to arrange transportation from the ferry landing.
Additional Departure Information
After a short ferry from Orcas Island, you will say farewell to your guides at approximately 1:45 PM* at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. From here, we recommend reserving a ticket with the Bellair Airporter for transportation to the Sea-Tac Airport (we suggest making reservations by phone at 866-235-5247. See www.airporter.com for schedules). The cost is $56 per person, one-way (or $106 for a round-trip ticket from the airport). Your guides can help you find the Airporter pickup location at the ferry. The Airporter shuttle has a 3:05 PM departure from the ferry terminal on our last day that arrives at Sea-Tac Airport at 6:10 PM - we recommend booking this shuttle unless you plan on spending more time in Anacortes. Please allow adequate connection time for any ongoing travel to accommodate possible traffic delays.
*Please note that these times may shift by approximately 30 minutes either way depending on the ferry and Airporter schedules.

Pedal the San Juan Island Loop and discover historical lighthouses
Overview
Begin your morning at a leisurely pace with breakfast at Lakedale, while the island wakes around you, before setting out on today’s ride. The route passes False Bay, a popular photo stop where blue water meets distant snow-capped peaks. Those craving extra miles can extend to Cattle Point at the island's southernmost tip, where the Olympic Mountain Range fills the horizon and a historic lighthouse stands watch over the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The route continues through green farmland dotted with red barns and golden straw bales before returning to the resort for a Trek Travel signature picnic lunch. Ride to Lime Kiln State Park and enjoy a Wildlife Cruise with a trained naturalist
Overview
This morning's ride passes Lime Kiln Point State Park, one of the best places in the world to spot resident orcas feeding in the kelp beds just offshore. A visit to the park's lighthouse research center offers a closer look at these well-studied animals for those who wish to learn more. After the ride, we'll make our way back to the ferry landing to board a private boat charter for a wildlife cruise, with lunch along the way. Out on the water, you'll likely spot seals, sea lions, porpoises, bald eagles, orcas, and more — with an experienced captain and trained naturalists accompanying you to bring it all into focus.
