Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your Dolomites bikes tour, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Venice's Marco Polo Airport (VCE) and then take a train to Belluno. Italian train schedules and tickets can be found on www.TrenItalia.com.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Belluno train station (Stazione di Belluno - Piazzale della Stazione 32100) at 9:00 AM on the first day of your Classic Climbs of the Dolomites bike tour. Your guides will shuttle you approximately one hour to the town of Alleghe where they'll spend some time fitting you to your Trek bike ensuring you will be comfortable for the week. Following a safety talk and a review of the details of the route, we’ll begin our ride, taking in the spectacular peaks of the Dolomites. Please have your riding gear in a separate bag, since your luggage will be unloaded at the hotel in Corvara and you will not have access to it during the bike fit.
If you will be late for the meeting or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip start with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, La Perla (+39 0471 83 10 00), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 11:30 AM at the Hotel Baita dei Pini. You’ll then take a two-and-a-half-hour shuttle to the Lecco train station, arriving around 2:00 PM. Direct trains run from Lecco to Milan every hour, where there are easy connections to all major Italian cities. Please don't book any transportation before 2:30 PM. Train schedules can be found on www.TrenItalia.com. We recommend you reserve your train ticket ahead of time.

Climb Passo Giau, Passo Falzarego and Passo Valparola
Overview
After a hearty breakfast, set out for one of the most scenic loops in the Dolomites. Ease into the day with a climb over Passo Campolongo, descend into Arabba, and ride a rolling 12 miles (20 km) to the base of Passo Giau. This six-mile (10 km) ascent averages 9% and rewards your efforts with a sweeping descent and a well-earned lunch at a cozy mountain lodge surrounded by towering peaks. Next, tackle Passo Falzarego—steeped in cycling history as the site of a legendary 1946 Giro d’Italia battle between Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali—then push a bit farther to reach Passo Valparola at 7,113 feet (2,168 m), a striking pass that transitions from dense woodland into a rocky landscape. From here, coast back to Corvara for some well-deserved relaxation, perhaps in the spa. This evening, enjoy a shuttle to a local agriturismo in Badia for home-cooked Ladin specialities.

The Sella Ronda Loop: Pedal in the shadow of the Sella Massif and its dramatic, sheer cliffs
Overview
Today you'll experience one of the most memorable rides of your life as you cycle the famed Sellaronda, a classic tour over the most celebrated four passes. These four iconic passes: Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, and Gardena are regular highlights in the Giro d’Italia, and three of them exceed 6,800 feet (2,072 m). The day will reward you with incredible views of the jagged peak of the Sassolungo and breathtaking descents into the valleys below. You'll ride through scenery that genuinely deserves the word "dramatic" as you circumnavigate the Sella Massif. The green pastures and beautiful fresh air will complement the vividness of the remarkable pale mountains. Whether it is skied or hiked, cycled on road or on trail, the Sellaronda is an achievement worth boasting about! Tonight we'll gather as a group for pizza at a cozy restaurant, walking distance from the hotel.

Tackle the signature switchbacks of Passo Stelvio
Overview
A private morning shuttle takes you north toward the Austrian and Swiss borders, where the landscape shifts from quiet alpine villages to the energetic convergence of the Venosta and Adige Valleys. Deep in the Venosta Valley, Mount Stelvio awaits. Today’s challenge is the iconic “classic” side of the climb—over 14 miles (22 km), 48 switchbacks, and a rise from 3,100 to 9,045 feet (944 to 2,756 m)—culminating at the highest paved road in the eastern Alps. From the summit, take in sweeping views stretching toward Switzerland before descending into the ski town of Bormio. A comforting plate of pasta al pomodoro awaits at your cozy hotel. This afternoon, unwind in the hotel spa or rejuvenate with a visit to the town’s famed thermal baths. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own in Bormio, with expert recommendations from your guides to help you make the most of your night.

Summit Passo Mortirolo and Passo Gavia
Overview
Today is your chance to take on the legendary Mortirolo and Gavia—two of cycling’s most revered and demanding climbs. It’s a serious feat, especially after a full week of riding, but the reward is all the sweeter at the top. You'll begin with a gentle descent south before reaching the base of Mortirolo. This climb is fierce—narrow and winding, averaging a 10.5% grade over 7.5 miles (12 km)—but also quiet and wooded, with fleeting views that hint at the elevation you're gaining. Your guides will be nearby with encouragement, water, and support. But the day isn’t done. One final climb remains: Passo Gavia. A long and steady climb, its wild, alpine scenery and the pale glacial lake at the summit leave a lasting impression. Celebrate your double ascent with a warm drink at the welcoming Rifugio Bonetta before a thrilling descent back to Bormio. This evening, toast your achievement with a well-earned cocktail at the hotel and a festive farewell dinner in town. Cin cin!
