Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your trip, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) or into the regional airport Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN) and then take a train to Bolzano train station. From the airports, shuttle busses depart frequently to Venice and Verona train stations. From Venice, you may take a train to Verona Porta Nuova, and then change to Bolzano. The journey lasts approximately three hours. In Verona Porta Nuova train station, trains depart hourly to Bolzano with the ride lasting approximately 90 minutes. Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Bolzano Train Station (Piazza della Stazione 3, 39100 Bolzano) at 9:30 AM on the first day of the Dolomites Hiking & Walking tour. Please come dressed ready to hike. After a one-hour transfer by private coach, you'll set off on your first chairlift ride of the trip to explore the beauty of the Dolomites.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Hotel Tyrol (+39 0471 774 100), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. It is possible to take a taxi from the Bolzano Train Station to your first hotel in Selva di Val Gardena for approximately 100€.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 11:00 AM at the Hotel La Perla. You will then shuttle for two hours to the Belluno Train station and arrive at approximately 1:00 PM. Welcome to the magnificent Dolomites! Your guides will meet you at Bolzano train station at 9:30 AM to begin your adventure. From there, a one-hour shuttle brings you to Ortisei, where your first chairlift ride of the trip awaits. Within minutes, you’ll reach Alpe di Siusi, Europe’s highest mountain pasture, and hike through lush landscapes framed by the dramatic Sassolungo peaks and towering limestone cliffs. Pause for lunch at a local hut, then complete the scenic loop before descending by gondola. In the evening, gather on the grounds of the beautiful Hotel Tyrol for a social hour, followed by your first dinner in the Dolomites.
