We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your Classic Climbs bike tour in Switzerland to allow time to adjust to the time zone and avoid any complications from flight delays. We recommend flying into Geneva Airport (GVA) or Zurich (ZRH).
From Geneva Airport, you can take a direct train to Montreux, which takes approximately one hour and 20 minutes. To plan your train journey, visit the Swiss Federal Railways website at www.sbb.ch/en or use the very handy SBB Mobile app, which allows you to buy tickets and check schedules with ease.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at Montreux Train Station at 9:00 AM on the first day of the trip. From there, we’ll have a short 20-minute shuttle ride to the UCI World Cycling Centre, where we’ll officially kick off the adventure with a round of introductions. Your guides will share tips for riding in the Swiss Alps and provide a personalized bike fit to ensure you're comfortable on your Trek bike this week. Please have your first day’s riding gear handy and separate from your other luggage to facilitate the bike fitting and ride.
If you anticipate being late for the pick-up or miss it altogether, please contact your guides. If you cannot reach them directly, please call our first hotel, Hotel Gstaaderhof in Gstaad (+41 33 748 63 63) and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. The best way to reach our first hotel is by train.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 11:00 AM with a five-minute shuttle to the Andermatt train station. From there, you can easily catch a train to Lucerne, Zurich, or Geneva, or continue your travels into Italy or France. The station is well connected and offers a scenic, efficient way to continue exploring Europe.
