Additional Arrival Information
We recommend arriving at least one day before the start of our cycling tour to adjust to the time zone and avoid any flight delays. We suggest flying into either Pau (PUF) or Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport (LDE), with direct flights from Paris and other European cities. Air France offers several daily flights, while EasyJet provides fewer but potentially more affordable options. Upon landing, a taxi to Lourdes from Tarbes costs approximately 30€, while a taxi from Pau is between 100-120€.
Note that the trip ends in Grenoble, so we recommend booking your return flight from Lyon (LYS) or Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). You can take a TGV from Grenoble to Paris Gare de Lyon station or Lyon. This journey is approximately three hours to Paris and one hour to Lyon. For tickets and schedules please check www.trainline.com.
Optional Bike Fitting – Day Before the Trip Start
We offer a bike fitting the evening before Day 1 at Hotel Gallia & Londres in Lourdes. Although optional, we strongly recommend attending for a smoother fit and more comfortable ride. The fitting takes place in the hotel’s Garage à vélos (bike garage). Bring your cycling shoes, helmet, pedals, and saddle if needed. If you'd like to take a self-guided warm-up ride after the fitting, bring your cycling attire as well.
Please note: The previous night's stay before the start of the trip at Hotel Gallia & Londres is not included, but you are welcome to make your own accommodation arrangements.
Trip Start – Day 1
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Hotel Gallia & Londres (26 Avenue Bernadette Soubirous- BP83 Lourdes) at 8:30 AM for the first day of the trip. If you were unable to make it the fitting the day before, please meet your guides at 8:15 and they will complete your bike fitting.
If you will be late for the start or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip starts with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Hotel Gallia & Londres (+33 (0)5 62 94 35 44), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 9:00 AM at the hotel, and a private shuttle will take you to the Grenoble TGV station to arrive approximately at 10:15 AM. Trains run directly to Lyon and Paris. See www.trainline.com for schedules. Please do not arrange any connections from the station until after 11:00 AM.

Conquer the Giant of Provence—the mighty Mont Ventoux
Overview
Get ready for epic scenery and awe-inspiring riding today as we take on the Géant de Provence—the formidable Mont Ventoux. This 13.4-mile (21.6 km) ascent has no flat sections and features an average grade of 10% over a relentless 6.2-mile (10 km) stretch, leading into the famous "moonscape." What makes Ventoux truly challenging isn't just its steep grades, but the unpredictable weather—intense winds or heat can make this climb feel much tougher than other mountains. We’ll set out early to give you the best chance for a memorable ascent. After reaching the summit and capturing the moment with a photo, we’ll descend to Malaucène for a well-earned bistro lunch, where you can relax and refuel. Feeling strong? Tackle Ventoux again from the opposite side for a double ascent or just spin back to the hotel. This evening, you and your fellow cyclists are free to explore the town of Mazan and select a local spot for dinner.
