Additional Arrival Information
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you in the lobby at the Club Hotel Marina Beach (Via Lungotevere, Orosei, 08028) at 9:30 AM on the first day of the trip. Please arrive dressed in your cycling clothes and bring anything you'll need for the day's ride, such as personal pedals, saddles, and GPS computers. Your guides will ensure you have the perfect fit on your Trek bike before heading out on your first ride in Sardinia.
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your Sardinia bike tour, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Olbia (OLB). Olbia is well connected, with numerous flights operating to and from major European cities, making travel to the island both easy and flexible. From the airport, taxis are readily available and the ride takes approximately one hour and 20 minutes; the transfer cost varies between 150–200€. Alternatively, a private shuttle can be arranged to the Club Hotel Marina Beach, the meeting point for Day 1.
We highly recommend staying at the Club Hotel Marina Beach the night before the trip starts — this is where you'll meet your guides on the morning of Day 1 and where your first ride begins.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip starts with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Su Gologone (+39 0784 287512), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. You may take a taxi from Olbia to the first night's hotel for approximately 250€.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 11:00 AM at the Park Hotel Cala di Lepre, then board a private coach for the approximately one-hour transfer to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport.
Step into the authentic heart of Sardinia, where traditional rural life endures
Overview
Welcome to Sardinia, the Mediterranean's most decidedly individual island, where ancient traditions have outlasted every outside influence. Your Trek Travel guides will meet you in the lobby of the Club Hotel Marina Beach in Orosei at 9:30 AM. After introductions, your guides will cover bike safety, share tips for riding in Italy, and ensure you are comfortably fitted on your Trek bike. Once everyone is ready, you'll head out on your first ride, leaving Orosei behind as you pedal into the fragrant Mediterranean maquis, scented with rosemary and myrtle. Your destination is Villa Cedrino, where a lunch of local flavors comes with sweeping views across the valley. A short downhill ride then brings you to Su Gologone, set against the soaring limestone peaks of Monte Corrasi, with time to settle in and unwind. The evening opens with a social hour watching Sardinian women craft traditional bread by hand, followed by dinner in one of Sardinia's most celebrated restaurant settings.

Climb one of the great mountain passes of the Mediterranean on the Genna Silana
Overview
The Genna Silana Pass is one of the great mountain rides of the Mediterranean, cutting through the heart of the Gennargentu Mountains. From the first pedal strokes, the climb rises gently, allowing you to find your rhythm as the dramatic karst landscape unfolds around you, with rugged limestone peaks, high plateaus, and deep hidden valleys giving way to sweeping views across the wild Supramonte and out toward the distant sea. The steady gradient makes the climb both rewarding and approachable, with the scale of the landscape growing with every mile. At the top, a well-deserved lunch awaits before a long, sweeping descent to the coast. A stop by the beach with a creamy gelato marks the end of the riding day before a one-and-a-half-hour shuttle returns you to the hotel. This evening, gather for a Sardinian dinner rooted in the ancient recipes and seasonal ingredients that have defined this kitchen for generations.

Head north into Gallura, where inland countryside gives way to a glittering coastline
Overview
After breakfast on the terrace, a private shuttle of approximately one hour and 45 minutes brings you north to the Gallura region, where the landscape softens from rugged limestone peaks into sculpted terrain shaped by ancient rock and wide-open vistas. Following a cappuccino in a village piazza, you'll set out on a ride through gently rolling countryside, framed by weathered granite outcrops and cork oak forests. As you pass Arzachena, the route gradually turns coastal—the air takes on a hint of salt, and the horizon deepens into shades of blue as the Mediterranean comes into view. Your ride concludes at Park Hotel Cala di Lepre, set on a hillside above the sea. Lunch at the hotel comes with sweeping coastal views, and the afternoon is yours to unwind among cork oaks, juniper, and fragrant maquis. This evening, a leisurely dinner at the hotel closes the day.

The ride continues to Santa Teresa di Gallura, a lively seaside town at the northern tip of Sardinia where Corsica appears surprisingly close. From here, a narrow strip of land carries you to Capo Testa—a wild, wind-carved granite headland dotted with hidden coves and luminous water, where the landscape feels raw, elemental, and endlessly shaped by the sea. The coast then leads to La Tegghja, a rustic agriturismo in the Gallura countryside, where lunch features traditional Sardinian specialties including porceddu. Following a peaceful coastal route through fragrant Mediterranean flora, with glimpses of quiet coves and white-sand beaches, you'll continue to the island of Caprera, linked by a short bridge. Here, the landscape grows wilder and more secluded, and there is time to visit the fort and memorial dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi, a key figure in Italy's unification. Lunch is on your own today, with your guides' top island recommendations in hand.
