Wherever your trip of a lifetime is taking you this summer, we are always one step ahead in doing our best to keep your trip cool, comfortable, and unforgettable.
With your adventure just around the corner, we wanted to reassure you that Trek Travel is always committed to making your cycling or hiking trip best in the world, no matter what mother nature throws our way!

Much of the Northern Hemisphere, from across Europe to the United States, can experience unseasonably warm temperatures, heat advisories, and less than desirable air quality during peak riding season. Your safety and comfort are always our top priority, and our team is always monitoring conditions so you don’t have to.
We’re fully prepared to keep your trip running smoothly and enjoyably, whatever the weather conditions bring.

If conditions call for it, here’s what you can expect on the road:
- Earlier ride starts. We’ll shift departure times earlier to take advantage of cooler morning temperatures.
- More frequent water breaks. Extra stops throughout the day to keep everyone refreshed and energized.
- Real-time itinerary flexibility. Our experienced team on the ground will adapt the plan as conditions evolve.
Don’t just take our word for it; we have been guiding trips all over the world for over 20 years and our guests have seen these adaptations in action. “David was always there when we needed him… just about every day the outside temperature was close to 100F, David was there at the right time with water, ice, Coke and food. He stopped and changed my flat in 100F+ temperature like F1 mechanic.” (Gary S., Pyrenees, 2023) Even when the heat was tough, the support from our guides never wavers: “The guides really made the trip! It was hot and hard… but Gabe, Andrea, and Pepe really made it an enjoyable experience for everyone. They were flexible when necessary and supportive when needed.” (Nate B. Tuscany 2024)

Wildfire & Air Quality Awareness
Warm, dry conditions can also raise the risk of wildfires in parts of the Northern Hemisphere. Our guides continuously monitor local air quality using the same index used by the US Environmental Protection Agency, and they’ll adjust the day’s activities accordingly, from reducing time outdoors on smoky days to adjusting rides and hikes itineraries entirely if a fire poses any risk near the road or trail. Safety-first decisions always come first, and your guides are trained to keep the group informed and comfortable every step of the way.

Our guides take uncontrollable situations and turn it into something memorable: “We visited the High-Desert Museum because of a wildfire smoke day which was an excellent experience… The guides were phenomenal and very flexible with a challenging weather/wildfire pattern. I felt very well supported on my rides.” (Paula A. Oregon 2023) Our guides hold the line on safety without losing sight of the fun: “As the wildfires taunted the group throughout the week, Andee and Zach kept on top of the issue. They drew a clear line that they would not do anything to threaten the safety of guests regardless of some of the pressure they were facing. They did a great job of adjusting some of the rides to the conditions allowing us to ride every day.” (John G. Oregon 2023)
A Quick Packing Tip
As you finish packing for your summer adventure, we always recommend bringing light, breathable clothing alongside a few layers for varying conditions; mornings can still start cool even on a warm day. Whatever the weather brings, one thing is certain: this is going to be a trip of a lifetime.
