Additional Arrival Information
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at Hotel Vermont (41 Cherry Street, Burlington VT 05401) at 10:30 AM on the first day of the trip. You and your traveling companions will shuttle approximately 30 minutes to Waterbury for a guide-prepared picnic lunch and a bike fitting session before beginning the first ride of the trip. Please arrive dressed in your riding gear, with everything you'll need for the ride kept separate from your main luggage.
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays.
We recommend that you fly into Burlington International Airport (BTV). From the airport, you can call or hail a taxi to take you downtown. It is approximately 4 miles from the airport to the meeting day hotel in downtown Burlington and a taxi ride should take about 10-15 minutes and cost $20-$25.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel in Stowe, Green Mountain Inn (802-253-7301), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.
Additional Departure Information
On the last day of your trip, a private Trek Travel shuttle will depart from the Inn at 11:00 AM to take you to Burlington. You will say farewell to your guides at approximately 12:00 PM at Burlington International Airport (BTV). Please do not schedule a flight out of Burlington International Airport before 2:00 PM on the last day of the trip to allow plenty of time for any unforeseen delays.
Settle into Stowe after a picnic lunch
Overview
Welcome to the Green Mountain State. Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at Hotel Vermont at 10:30 AM, and a 30-minute shuttle carries the group to a signature Trek Travel picnic lunch to start the trip. Afterward, your guides will familiarize you with your Trek bicycle and make sure you have a comfortable fit for the days ahead before you set off on your first ride. You’ll pedal through the rolling countryside on quiet farm roads and hardpacked gravel toward the village of Stowe, where the Green Mountain Inn will be your home for the rest of the trip. Tonight, we’ll gather for a round of drinks and dinner at the von Trapp Bierhall, where Austrian-style lagers brewed on site meet a menu built around a wood-fired grill.

Pedal past Mt. Mansfield and climb Smugglers' Notch
Overview
Continue north on Route 100 for a ride through a landscape touched with fall color and dotted with white church steeples, bright red barns, and grazing cows. Roll into the town of Johnson, a village set in the mountains, and take time to browse its shops and boutiques, including the Johnson Woolen Mills factory store and its woolen goods. After a picnic lunch in Jeffersonville, choose between a shuttle in the van and the climb up the west side of Mount Mansfield to Smugglers’ Notch, with a rewarding descent back to Stowe. This evening, we’ll gather at the Inn for a round of drinks before heading out for our final dinner, toasting to new friends and the classic New England that brought us together.

Take a final spin to the von Trapp Family Lodge
Overview
This morning’s final loop is a farewell to Vermont’s fall foliage as you cycle the quiet roads around Stowe and past Gold Brook Bridge, one of the oldest and most storied covered bridges in Vermont, known as Emily’s Bridge (and allegedly haunted by Emily herself). Take in the New England countryside one last time on the ride up to the von Trapp Family Lodge, a reconstructed version of the grand lodge once home to the family whose story inspired The Sound of Music. If you’d rather skip the ride, you can sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast, and stroll through the streets of Stowe, perhaps picking up souvenirs and gifts. A private Trek Travel shuttle departs from the Inn at 11:00 AM for Burlington International Airport, arriving around 12:00 PM.
