Enjoy a coastal ride past the dramatic cliffs of Cap Fréhel and visit the 14th Century Fort La Latte
Overview
Today, you'll wind your way west toward the castle of Fort La Latte, also called the Castle of Roche Goyon, whose name comes from one of the oldest Breton families. After a few pedal strokes on the quiet countryside roads, you will have the opportunity to visit this impressive 14th century castle strategically built on a small piece of land that juts into the Bay of the Fresnaye. Featured Meal : Galette bretonne
We'll visit our favorite restaurant in the village of Plévenon to experience a true Breton tradition — galettes. This savory crêpe made with buckwheat flour can be filled with a whole list of ingredients although very commonly with grated Emmental cheese, ham, and a fried egg. During several centuries, the galette was the principal food of the Bretons and was as much a staple of the common household as bread, since buckwheat was able to grow in the most adverse soil conditions. Today it continues as an emblematic meal in Brittany and there is a true art to preparing it well. To fully enjoy the flavours and the experience, make sure to accompany it with one of the artisanal, effervescent apple ciders the region is also so well known for.
