Tackle the legendary Col de La Madone
Overview
As the race moves towards us into the Alpes-Maritimes, with a sprinter's finish into Barcelonette, you'll tackle your own challenge: the Col de la Madone. This climb is famously used as a training ground for the pros to test their fitness level before embarking on a grand tour. Trek even has one of their most popular frames named after this climb, yet it’s never been featured in the Tour de France. You have two options to start your day: either ride directly from the hotel and conquer the Col de Turbie featured in Stage 21, before descending to Menton, or hop in the van and shuttle to Menton to begin your ride. The climb begins right from the beach and continues upward for seven miles reaching over 3,000 feet above sea level. At the summit, soak in the views of the surrounding peaks and the sparkling Côte d'Azur coastline before an exhilarating descent back to our luxurious hotel in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Tonight, enjoy another delicious Mediterranean feast at our hotel and look forward to our transfer to Nice and live race action in the days ahead.
