Additional Arrival Information
For travelers coming from outside of Australia, we suggest arriving at Brisbane International Airport (BNE) located in Brisbane, which is serviced by 31 airlines offering flights to 50 domestic and 29 international destinations.
Taxis are available 24/7 from sheltered ranks right outside the Domestic and International Terminals. The journey to Byron Bay typically takes approximately two hours and is estimated to cost around 400 AUD. The airport is also served by all major car rental agencies.
You can hire an Uber from Level 2, take the lift or escalator down to Level 1, follow the Rideshare Booking signs towards the open-air car park on the left as you exit the Terminal building. You can use Uber’s fare estimator or your Rideshare app to work out the cost of your trip.

If you are heading into the center of Brisbane, train services run every 15 minutes during peak times and every 30 minutes off-peak periods. Brisbane Airtrain also connects into the Queensland Rail suburban network. Book your ticket on the Airtrain website and get your return journey free.
Alternatively, if you are traveling from within Australia or New Zealand, you have the option to fly into Gold Coast International Airport (OOL), which offers connections to 18 domestic and 12 international destinations. You can choose to hire a taxi for approximately 200 AUD for a one-hour journey. If you choose to take the bus, it will take approximately two hours and cost 40 AUD. Your Trek Travel host will meet you at Byron Bay Hotel & Apartments at 11:00 AM for a short five-minute transfer to the Trek Travel Byron Bay HQ. Please come dressed in your cycling clothes and bring any personal cycling equipment you may need for the day, such as pedals, saddles, GPS units, etc. After an overview of the tour, you'll be fitted to your Trek bike to ensure that you are well-prepared for the week ahead.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your host. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, the Byron Bay Hotel & Apartments (+612 6639 8700), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.

Overview
Welcome to Byron Bay and your self-guided biking trip! Your Trek Travel host will meet you at Byron Bay Hotel & Apartments at 11:00 AM for a short five-minute transfer to the Trek Travel Byron Bay HQ. Please come dressed in your cycling clothes and bring any personal cycling equipment you may need for the day, such as pedals, saddles, GPS units, etc. After an overview of the tour, you'll be fitted to your Trek bike to ensure that you are well-prepared for the week ahead. Then, you'll embark on your first cycling adventure through Byron Bay, including the short (but steep finish) climb up to the Cape Byron Lighthouse, the most easterly location on mainland Australia. Take things at your own pace as you make your way back at your hotel. Unwind and relax, perhaps stroll down to one of Byron’s famous beaches for an afternoon swim before enjoying your first dinner at one of the many fantastic local restaurants.

Coffee is a regional obsession that always yields fantastic results! Overview
It's a magical day on the bike, offering charming hinterland villages to explore and continuously breathtaking vistas. As the ride climbs away from the Byron coastline, you'll be treated to stunning views that stretch across the lush countryside and back over Byron Bay and the coast. The rolling macadamia farms and tree-lined roads provide an epic cycling experience, and after a climb into Clunes, perhaps pause for another excellent coffee - this region never disappoints! Continuing north into Federal, another inland gem, you may wish to stop and explore the old-time general store and have some lunch at one of the gourmet eateries. Leaving Federal, reserve some energy for a quick descent followed by the final major climb of the day. As the coast reappears before you, you'll pass through the historic small town of Bangalow, with its colorful boutique shops, before descending back to your hotel. For your final night, decide on a fantastic restaurant to celebrate your wonderful trip. You may even catch a breathtaking beach sunset if luck is on your side.
