Activity Level: Level 2, Level 3
Terrain: Hilly
The unpaved surfaces on our Bentonville Gravel bike tour are rated as Advanced. About 50% of the riding is unpaved, primarily featuring moderate gravel with rough surfaces including chunky gravel, potholes, and washboard-like areas. Bentonville is surrounded by farmland leading to the Ozark Mountains, with terrain that is hilly, with frequent short, steep climbs up to a 15% grade. Most rides begin with 5-10 miles of pavement before reaching gravel roads where you'll encounter minimal traffic and no services in rural areas. The support van will be stationed at key points along the route, as it can't always follow the entire route.
This tour is ideal for Level 2 and Level 3 Riders with experience riding gravel on hilly terrain and steep, punchy climbs. Level 4 Riders will enjoy the added mileage, climbing, and challenging gravel sections of the avid routes. For those familiar with gravel riding and eager to experience every mile, yet mindful of their physical limits, our electric-assist bike option offers a comfortable and enjoyable solution.
