Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your Croatia Hiking and Walking Tour, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays.
We recommend that you fly into Split Airport (SPU) for the trip start. The airport is 15 miles (25 km) from the city center and can be reached by shuttle or taxi. Shuttles generally run after each international flight arrival and cost approximately 10€. Please consult plesoprijevoz.hr/en/split-croatia/ for more information. A taxi ride should take approximately 35 minutes and cost around 50€. Alternatively, our hotel in Split can arrange transportation for you for an additional fee.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Hotel Heritage Palace Varos at 9:00 AM on the first day of the trip. Please come dressed ready to hike. After some brief introductions, your guides will take you on your first hike on Marjan Hill, directly leaving from the hotel.
If you will be late for the pick up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call the trip hotel, Hotel Heritage Palace Varos (+385 99 274 5071) and leave a message with your expected arrival time. A taxi from Split Airport to the Hotel Heritage Palace Varos will be approximately 50€.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 11:00 AM at Hotel Crystal in Orebić. You will then take a private coach that will drop you in front of the Hotel Lapad in Dubrovnik (approximately two-hour shuttle). From here, you can take a 10-minute taxi or Uber to the old town, the airport (around 30 minutes and 30€) or any other destinations of your choice. Alternatively, you can taxi or Uber to Gruz ferry port (a five-minute ride costs around 6€), where you can take a ferry back to Split. Please do not book any transportation before 1:30 PM to accommodate possible delays due to traffic.

Overview
Welcome to your Croatia Hiking & Walking Tour! Your guides will meet you at 9:00 AM in the lobby of Hotel Heritage Palace Varos in Split. After introductions, we’ll set off on our first hike along the south slopes of Marjan Hill, a scenic park forest with panoramic views over Split’s historic center. Following our hike, enjoy lunch and take time to explore Split, a Mediterranean gem centered around the 1,700-year-old UNESCO-protected Diocletian's Palace—a perfect gateway to your Croatian adventure. This evening, our local guide will lead you on an immersive exploration of this ancient landmark, revealing its fascinating history and hidden details. We’ll then gather for a memorable social hour and dinner at Bokeria, one of the city’s most vibrant dining spots.

Today’s adventure takes us inland to one of Croatia’s natural wonders: Krka National Park, a paradise of cascading waterfalls, greenery, and crystal-clear pools. After breakfast, we’ll take a one-hour private shuttle to this breathtaking reserve, where tranquil trails wind along the lower Krka River, leading to the spectacular Skradinski Buk and Roski Slap waterfalls. Feel the mist as cascades tumble into turquoise pools, inviting you for a refreshing dip. On our way back, you’ll visit the historic Jaruga Hydropower Plant, an engineering marvel—the oldest in Europe and the second oldest in the world. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a traditional Dalmatian Konoba, where time-honored recipes and warm hospitality bring the region’s flavors to life. Following lunch, we’ll shuttle back to Split, where you can unwind at the hotel or explore at your own pace. Tonight, with recommendations from your guides, you’re free to discover the perfect spot for dinner.

Today, we trade land for water, crossing the Adriatic by fast ferry from Split harbor to Hvar, the most glamorous of the Dalmatian islands. Upon arrival, a gentle climb leads to the 16th-century Church of St. Mary Magdalene, an elegant Renaissance-Baroque landmark offering panoramic views of Hvar Island’s famed lavender fields and pristine beaches. Descend along a well-marked single trail through the trees to the coastal path, hiking past sandy and rocky shores with a refreshing swim en route to chic Hvar Town. After free time to explore and enjoy lunch, return to the hotel to unwind at the spa or lounge on its private beach. This evening, savor Hvar’s celebrated vintages at an hosted wine tasting before heading into town for a memorable dinner of local cuisine amid its lively atmosphere.

Wake up to warm sunshine and a leisurely breakfast on the hotel’s terrace. This morning, we’ll board a catamaran ferry to cruise through the Dalmatian islands, bound for Korčula—often called “Little Dubrovnik” for its medieval charm and striking architecture. Upon arrival, a short shuttle brings us to the trailhead, where we’ll hike a rocky yet well-maintained path through a gorgeous nature reserve, surrounded by lush greenery and panoramic sea views. Our hike ends at Eko Škoj farm, a family-run estate renowned for its exceptional olive oil and deep-rooted traditions. Amid ancient olive groves, enjoy a guided tasting of their exquisite oils, followed by a traditional meal in this idyllic countryside setting. Later, we’ll take a speedboat to Orebić, on the Pelješac peninsula, where you’ll check into our next hotel and enjoy a free evening, with dining recommendations from your guides.

Today, we'll hike from the hotel to the Gospe od Andjela monastery and museum, a splendid 15th-century Franciscan landmark that offers one of the trip’s most stunning panoramic views and an impressive collection of religious art and manuscripts. The route follows gravel and single-track paths with a gentle climb to the monastery, then levels out before descending toward lunch. Midday, we’ll arrive at a laid-back surfer restaurant overlooking windsurfers riding the waves. After a shuttle back to Orebić, take time to explore this historic maritime town, known for its grand Kortas—villas built by sea captains along an expansive beachfront promenade. Admire the Venetian influences in its architecture, go for a refreshing swim, or opt for a kayak excursion to take in views of Pelješac from a new perspective. Tonight, we’ll gather one last time to celebrate our journey with a drink and a delicious dinner.

We’ll board a speedboat to return to Korčula, where our local historian friend will reveal the town’s hidden gems during a guided walking tour. After our exploration, we’ll return by boat to the hotel. At 11:00 AM, bid farewell to your guides as a private shuttle takes you to Dubrovnik Central Bus Station, on a scenic journey lasting approximately two hours.
