If you will be late for the pick up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call the trip hotel, Hotel Heritage Palace Varos (+385 99 274 5071) and leave a message with your expected arrival time. You will then take a private coach that will drop you in front of the Hotel Lapad in Dubrovnik (approximately two-hour shuttle). From here, you can take a 10-minute taxi or Uber to the old town, the airport (around 30 minutes and 30€) or any other destinations of your choice. Alternatively, you can taxi or Uber to Gruz ferry port (a five-minute ride costs around 6€), where you can take a ferry back to Split. Please do not book any transportation before 1:30 PM to accommodate possible delays due to traffic.
Welcome walk up Marjan Hill and explore the medieval streets of Split
Overview
Your guides will meet you at 9:00 AM in the lobby of Heritage Palace Varoš in Split, where your Croatia Hiking & Walking adventure begins. After introductions, the first hike follows the south slopes of Marjan Hill, a park forest that opens up to sweeping views over Split's historic center and the Adriatic beyond. Following lunch together, the afternoon is free to take in the city at your own pace—and Split rewards the wanderer, centered around the 1,700-year-old UNESCO-protected Diocletian's Palace, a living landmark that sets the tone for the week ahead. This evening, your guides lead a walk through the ancient landmark, uncovering its layered history and less-traveled corners, before the group gathers for a social hour, a preview of the week ahead, and dinner at one of the old town's most characterful restaurants.
