Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your Dolomites bikes tour, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Venice's Marco Polo Airport (VCE) and then take a train to Belluno. Italian train schedules and tickets can be found on www.TrenItalia.com.
From Belluno, you'll need to get a private transfer to the town of Corvara (about one and a half drive) where you'll meet your guides at 11:30 AM on the first day of the trip. Our trip consultants will be happy to provide you with the contact details of local, trustworthy drivers to organize your transfer to the hotel in Corvara. A private transfer from the Belluno train station to Corvara will cost approximately €220 if you reserve in advance with our recommended local drivers. Alternatively, taxis will be available at the train station but they will charge you more for the transfer.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the hotel, La Perla (Str. Col Alt 105, 39033 Corvara in Badia BZ) at 12:00 PM on the first day of your Custom Dolomites bike tour. Please come to the meeting dressed in your cycling gear, ready to ride. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch as your guides fit you to your Trek bike ensuring you will be comfortable for the week. Following a safety talk and a review of the details of the route, we'll hit the road marvelling at the spectacular peaks of the Dolomites accompanying us throughout the ride.
If you will be late for the meeting or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip start with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call our hotel, La Perla (+39 0471 83 10 00), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 11:30 AM at the hotel, La Perla. A private shuttle will take you to the Belluno Train station and arrive at approximately 1:00 PM. Direct trains run from Belluno to Venice every hour, where there are easy connections to all major Italian cities. Please don't book any transportation before 1:30 PM. Train schedules can be found on www.TrenItalia.com.. We recommend you reserve your train ticket ahead of time.

In this picturesque location you'll enjoy a picnic lunch as your guides familiarize you to your Trek Domane for the week, and ensure that you have a comfortable fit. After discussing the rules of bike safety and specific tips for the Dolomites, you'll hit the road conquering your first mountain passes beneath the jagged spires of the Dolomites! This evening, you’ll gather at the hotel and discuss the week ahead before you savor the diversity of flavors from the Italian cucina to fuel up for tomorrow’s adventures.

Overview
Today you'll experience one of the most memorable rides of your life as you cycle the famed Sellaronda, a classic tour over the most celebrated four passes which is also the first part of the Maratona course! These four iconic passes: Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, and Gardena are regular highlights in the Giro d’Italia, and three of them exceed 6,800 feet. The day will reward you with incredible views of the jagged peak of the Sassolungo and breathtaking descents into the valleys below. You'll ride through scenery that genuinely deserves the word "dramatic" as you circumnavigate the Sella Massif. Green pastures and fresh air frame the vivid beauty of these remarkable pale mountains. Tonight we'll meet for a special dinner at a local agriturismo where we'll savor delicious home-cooked Ladin specialities with fresh and wholesome local ingredients.

After a hearty hotel breakfast, prepare for one of the most scenic loops in road cycling—the second half of the upcoming Maratona long course. Start with a mellow ascent of Passo Campolongo before descending into Arabba. From there, cruise through rolling terrain before tackling the challenging six-mile climb up Passo Giau. A long, sweeping descent leads to a well-deserved lunch in a cozy mountain lodge, where breathtaking views of the Dolomite peaks surround you. Next, climb Passo Falzarego, then push a little farther to reach the highest point at Passo Valparola, an awe-inspiring 7,113-foot pass that transitions from dense woodland to a dramatic rocky landscape. Return to Corvara for some well-earned relaxation at the hotel—perhaps with a spa session—before exploring the lively town and savoring dinner at a restaurant of your choice, with recommendations provided by your guides.

We suggest you take time to explore the charming village of San Cassiano, perhaps stopping for a cappuccino or macchiato, before heading back to Corvara. Unwind at the hotel spa, then soak in the lively pre-race buzz in town as we gather for a hearty, carb-heavy dinner to fuel up for tomorrow’s big ride.
