Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at Hej Humlebรฆk Cafรฉ (A. Kochs Vej 14, 3050 Humlebรฆk, Denmark) at 10:45 AM on the first day of the trip. The cafรฉ is conveniently located just a short walk from Humlebรฆk Station, which can be reached with an approximately 35-minute train ride from Copenhagen Central Station (Kรธbenhavn H). After a bike fitting to ensure your comfort on your Trek bike this week, you'll be ready to ride out along scenic country roads and bike paths. Please have your first dayโs riding gear handy and separate from your other luggage to facilitate the bike fitting and ride.
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your bike tour in Denmark, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH). The Copenhagen airport is about 8.5 miles (13.5 km) from the town center.
You can take a train or subway from Copenhagen Airport directly into Copenhagen's Central station (Kรธbenhavn H). The train station is located below the terminal building. The train gets you to Copenhagen Central Station in approximately 20 minutes. Our recommended pre-trip hotels are within walking distance from the Central Station. Consider purchasing the Copenhagen City Pass that allows you to make unlimited use of the train and bus to and from the airport, and all trams, metros, and buses in the city centre for up to 24 hours.
To get more information about getting to town from the airport, visit the airport's web page at www.cph.dk and to plan your trip with public transportation, you can use www.publictransport.dk.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Marienlyst Strandhotel (+45 49 21 40 00) and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. You may take a taxi to the first nightโs hotel for approximately 1200-1500 DKK (around $165-$210). The trip takes around 40-50 minutes from the airport.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 10:45 AM. From the hotel, a 10-minute private shuttle will take you to the Bรฅstad train station. Here, you can easily catch a train to Copenhagen Airport or other Swedish towns, such as Gothenburg, Stockholm, or Malmรถ. The train ride from Bรฅstad train station to Copenhagen Airport takes approximately one hour and 45 minutes and trains run every hour at 32 minutes past the hour. Please do not schedule a flight out of Copenhagen Airport before 5:00 PM on the last day of the trip to allow plenty of time for any unforeseen delays.
