Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) in Rochester, New York. This regional airport is serviced by most major US domestic carriers. If you are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Rochester/University & Medical Center (the pickup location on the first day of your Trek Travel trip), you may call the hotel to arrange to be picked up by their complimentary airport shuttle.
For guests driving to the trip, we suggest driving to the Lake House on Canandaigua. Park in the hotel lot and you may drop your luggage at the front desk if you like, so that it may be delivered to your room later in the day. Please let the front desk staff know that you are with Trek Travel. Your guides will pick you up here on the first day of your trip between 10:45 AM and 11:00 AM. If you plan to do this please notify your trip consultant, so your guides will be aware of your arrival plans.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Hilton Garden Inn Rochester/University & Medical Center (30 Celebration Dr, Rochester, NY 14620) at 10:00 AM on the first day of the trip. Once everyone has arrived, the group will shuttle approximately 40 minutes to the Lake House on Canandaigua to pick up any guests who may have driven their personal vehicles to the trip. From here the group will shuttle an additional 25 minutes to a winery near the shores of Seneca Lake. Upon your arrival to the winery you will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch and a wine tasting if you like. After lunch, your Trek Travel guides will ensure a comfortable fit to your Trek bicycle for the week before you begin your first ride of the trip. Please have your riding gear in a separate bag, since your luggage will be unloaded at the Lake House on Canandaigua and you will not have access to it during lunch or the bike fit.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip start with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call the Lake House on Canandaigua (585-394-7800) and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. A taxi from the pickup hotel in Rochester to meet the group at the winery will cost about $150 and take about an hour.
Additional Departure Information
You will say farewell to your guides at 12:45 PM at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC). If you are flying out today, please do not book a flight that departs before 3:00 PM. If requested, your guides can also make a stop at the Hilton Garden Inn Rochester/University & Medical Center after the airport drop.
Enjoy a wine tasting and ride to Canandaigua
Overview
After meeting your guides this morning, our shuttle will bring you to a winery near the shores of Seneca Lake. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch prepared by your guides and a wine tasting, if you like. Taste for yourself the dry, mineral-tinged Riesling style of wine that this cool climate wine region is know for. After a short round of introductions, your Trek Travel guides will discuss the rules of bike safety and ensure a comfortable fit to your Trek bike. The day is then yours to enjoy as you head out on your first ride of the week through the rolling farmland that separates Seneca and Canandaigua Lakes. You will ride west as you work your way to the Lake House, situated on the north end of beautiful Canandaigua Lake. Check into your lake view room for the week and relax on your private balcony before joining the group for a welcome social hour. Ride to Seneca Lake and indulge in a leisurely afternoon
Overview
This morning you’ll enjoy your first Rose Tavern breakfast on the breezy screened-in porch of the restaurant. Afterward, it's time for another beautiful ride through farmland and along country roads as you head north and east, back toward Seneca Lake. Upon your arrival to the small downtown of Geneva, you will be treated to several miles of lakefront riding on a bike path as you enter Seneca Lake State Park, where you will enjoy lunch. Most guests will end their ride here and shuttle back to the hotel after lunch, but those who wish for more miles will complete the loop back through this pastoral landscape to the hotel. This afternoon is a good time to take advantage of the amenities at the Lake House- relax by the pool with a book, play some lawn games with your fellow travelers, get an ice cream and stroll along the pier, take a swim in the lake, or schedule an appointment in the exceptional Willowbrook Spa (beyond the included Day 5 appointment, spa visits are not included in the trip price and we recommend making reservations well in advance). Dinner this evening will be at your leisure at the Sand Bar or Rose Tavern. You will make your reservation for the time of your choosing and simply bill your meal and first drink to Trek Travel.

Circumnavigate Lake Canandaigua and enjoy a wine-paired dinner
Overview
After another delicious Rose Tavern breakfast, today is your opportunity to circumnavigate the lake that's right outside your door. While today's ride is the most challenging of the week it is also the most beautiful. Ride alongside vineyards, past stunning views of the lake and through quiet small towns. Break for lunch in Naples at Old School Cafe, a casual, vintage-themed establishment housed in a 150-year-old school house. After lunch your ride takes you along shaded West Avenue and through Middlesex before ending with some final miles through the rolling farmland you'll by now have come to know and love. Tonight the group will shuttle to Naple's Inspire Moore winery and vineyard. Walk among the vines with a glass in hand and learn about the winery's sustainable farming practices. Then take a seat next door at the eclectic Roots Café for a final wine-paired dinner as you raise a glass to your week in the Finger Lakes.
