Your guides will meet you at Hotel Nord 1901 (+34 972 41 15 22). Upon meeting your guides and getting checked into the hotel, come to the bike room ready to ride, and we will ensure you have a great fit for your Trek bike for the week and give you a few pointers before you head off on a self-guided warm-up ride.
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays.
We recommend flying into Barcelona (BCN) and taking a train to Girona from Barcelona Estacio de Sants.ย For the most comfortable option, a taxi or ride-share from the airport directly to the train station is easy to arrange from either terminalโCabify is the recommended app within Barcelona or you can follow signs for taxis and use a regulated city cab. The journey to the city center train station takes 20โ30 minutes and costs around 35โฌ. For public transport, local trains depart directly from the station located outside Terminal 2 for Barcelona Estaciรณ Sants and cost around โฌ5 one-way. If you arrive at Terminal 1, take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 2. For train information, consult www.renfe.com.
The Girona train station and Hotel Nord 1901 are approximately a 15-minute walk through the center of Girona, though taxis are also available for the short ride.
If you will be late for the meeting time or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our hotel, Hotel Nord 1901 (+34 972 41 15 22), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. Please have your first-day cycling clothes and riding gear easily accessible, separate from your luggage.

Els รngels and Santa Pellaiaโa Girona classic
Overview
Today, you'll ride one of Girona's most iconic climbs: Els รngels. This six-mile (10 km) ascent winds through pine forest to the Sanctuary of Els รngels before a sweeping descent through rolling countryside and quiet Catalan villages. The road then rises toward Santa Pellaia, a local favorite affectionately nicknamed "Hincapie" in honor of former pro racer George Hincapie. After the climb, we'll descend into Cassร de la Selva for lunch before the final miles back to Girona. For those who prefer a shorter day, a flatter route home is available after the descent of Els รngels. This recovery option is largely unsupported and does not include a snack stop. Dinner is on your own tonight, and your guides will be happy to share their favorite spots around town.

Today, set out together as a group for a ride straight out of the hotel, with plenty of route options to suit your training goals. Pedal toward the tranquil Lake of Banyoles, where the avid option splits off for a true Girona classicโRocacorba. This steep, punchy climb is a well-kept secret and a training go-to for pros looking to push their limits, stretching nearly nine miles (14 km) at an average 6.5% grade. The ascent is relentless, but the panoramic Pyrenean views at the top make every effort worthwhile. After a strong ride, roll back into town to recover and refuel. Then itโs time to turn back toward Girona, rolling in with a full weekโs worth of miles in your legs. Tonight, weโll dine as a group, toasting to the effort, the adventure, and the fitness gained. Perfecto!
