Overview

Welcome to your Mallorca cycling camp! You'll meet your guides at Monnaber Nou Eco Hotel at 11:00 AM. Here you’ll be fitted to your Trek bike for the week and receive important information about the daily schedule and ride options. Take on the Alcudia Loop, a perfect ride to start the week of training. You'll be riding out of the hotel through two of the oldest towns on the island, Pollença, and Alcudia. Pedal around and through the ancient town walls built for protection from pirates in the 16th century. Stop in for a quick coffee or choose to ride a nice little climb alongside the Bay of Pollença as you make your way out to the base of Ermita de la Victoria, a 15th-century Carmelite convent. You’ll return through the flatland roads, lined with dry-stone walls that will bring you towards Sa Pobla and back to the hotel where you can check into your room before joining the group for dinner and discussing the adventure ahead.

You'll begin your first big day heading west to the village of Orient, a quiet gem in the Tramuntana Mountains, known for its natural beauty and traditional architecture. You'll tackle the Col de Orient climb— a steady 9.8 km (6.1 miles) at 5% gradient—offering stunning valley views. After, we will descend into Alaró and stop for a quick bite at Cycling Planet, a popular café among local cyclists. From here, the ride winds through rolling terrain lined with lemon and orange groves, immersing you in Mallorca’s countryside. Dry-stone walls guide the way back through Campanet before you return to the hotel to relax and recover for the next day’s ride.

Today, Mallorca isn’t kidding around. It’s a big day in the mountains as we ride over and up to the iconic Sa Calobra. You'll have just enough time to warm your legs up before the first climb toward Lluc. Take in the beauty of the Tramuntana mountains noticing the olive trees, the sweet smell of almond blossoms, and the changes in the vegetation as you reach the top. The Sa Calobra road balances beauty with brawn. It’s one of the most picturesque routes in Europe, but it demands serious mental toughness since you have to ride all the way down it before you ride up it. This climb is easily one of the most popular in Europe and one of the best 12 miles (19 km) you'll ever ride. Don't forget to take photos, because you may never see another road like it!

Today is your chance to explore the beautiful island of Mallorca on your own. Your Trek Travel guides will be there to assist you in selecting a preferred route, or to guide you as you discover the island's countryside, dotted with almond orchards and farmland. Take in the sights of the historic castle of Arta, or pedal into the charming town of Alarò, nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by the majestic Tramuntana Sierra. Take the time to uncover the island's hidden gems and create your own adventure.

Start your day with a convenient shuttle from the hotel to the charming town of Andratx, where you'll begin an unforgettable cycling experience. This route, considered one of the best on the island, offers a balance of distance, elevation, and breathtaking beauty. As you traverse the Tramuntana coastline, you'll be greeted with magnificent ocean views and pass by rugged cliffs and ancient stone relics. Take a break in the picturesque town of Soller, known for its lovely main square lined with cafes and beautiful architecture. Fuel up with a delicious coffee, almond cake, or fresh orange juice before tackling the iconic ascent of Puig Major, the highest peak on the island. At the summit, you'll be rewarded once again with exquisite views and a well-deserved sense of accomplishment. Enjoy a scenic, downhill return to the hotel, where you can unwind at the hotel spa with a dip in the pool or hot tub, before heading out for dinner of your choosing. And don't forget to treat yourself to a scoop or two of gelato; you've earned it!

Today, set off for an unbelievably scenic ride to the island's northernmost tip, traveling through the historic town of Pollenca and along the spectacular Formentor Peninsula. Along the way, take in some of the island's most rugged and natural landscapes, complete with breathtaking cliff views, vivid turquoise Mediterranean waters, and even the chance to spot some local wildlife. You'll be in the company of other cyclists on their way to the famous lighthouse at the end of the peninsula. While the ride may be challenging, the stunning views make every pedal stroke worth it, so don't forget to take a moment to appreciate the surroundings. After a successful ride, celebrate your accomplishment by dining at Monnebar Nou, where the chef prepares each meal with fresh, locally-sourced, organic ingredients from the estate's farm.

As your Mallorca cycling trip comes to an end, make sure to fit in one last memorable ride by choosing from one of our many self-guided route options or by taking a leisurely spin to the historic chapel of Magdalena. A gentle climb will take you to the Ermita Santa Magdalena, a 13th-century monastery that sits atop a hill, where it is a tradition for the locals to walk up to this chapel on Angel Sunday which is the week after Easter Sunday. Your time spent at Monnebar Nou, which may have felt foreign at first, will now feel like a home away from home. The island, the cycling, the people, and the memories will stay with you forever.
