Additional Arrival Information
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi (Avenue Mohammed Vi Hivernage, 40000 Marrakech, Morocco) at 9:30 AM on the first day of the trip. Please arrive at the pickup location in your riding clothes and have the rest of your riding gear in a separate bag or readily accessible, to avoid having to unpack your luggage. After a 15-minute shuttle to the ride start, your guides will fit everyone to their Trek bike, run through a few safety tips, and send you off on your first ride. Lunch will be provided along the route today.
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your trip, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Marrakech Menara (RAK). From the airport, you can take a taxi directly to Marrakech city center which takes about 15 minutes and costs approximately $10 USD. The best way to get a taxi is by visiting the fixed-fare taxi counter located directly outside the arrivals hall exit. You can also pre-arrange a private transfer through your hotel. These cost about $15-30 USD for a driver to meet you at arrivals and bring you directly to your hotel.
If you will be late for the meeting time, or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our accommodation, Les Roches Noires (+212 (0)524 43 36 88), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.
Additional Departure Information
You will board a private shuttle that departs The View Agadir for Marrakech at 9:00 AM. The transfer takes about three hours, arriving around 12:00 PM to the Marrakech Menara Airport. We recommend scheduling your flight after 3:00 PM. If you are extending your stay in Marrakech after the trip, you can take a taxi or private shuttle from the airport directly to your accommodation. For those that plan to stay in Agadir or fly out of Agadir Al-Massira airport, checkout is at 11:00 AM and you can book a taxi to the airport through the hotel concierge at a time that suits you.
Saddle up on the edge of the Atlas
Overview
Welcome to Morocco! Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi in Marrakech at 9:30 AM, where ancient medina lanes, bustling souks, and the call to prayer from the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque set the tone for the week ahead. After a 15-minute shuttle to the ride start, your guides will fit you to your Trek Checkpoint gravel bike, walk you through some safety tips, and send you off on your first pedal strokes in Morocco. Today's ride carries you from the city's edge across the Agafay Plateau—a vast, rock-strewn desert canvas, with the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas rising on the eastern horizon. Lunch stops at The Oasis with a spread of Moroccan cuisine before the final miles bring you to desert camp Les Roches Noires. Unpack, settle in, and join your guides for a sunset camel ride across the plateau before dinner together under an open sky.

Rise from the foothills deep into the High Atlas
Overview
Rise early and fuel up, because today the Atlas reveals itself in full. Your ride climbs from the edge of the Agafay desert into the dramatic folds of the High Atlas Mountains, winding through Berber villages where terraced barley fields cling to the slopes and daily life has changed little in centuries. The switchbacks steepen and the air cools as you gain elevation, with deep valleys dotted with almond and walnut trees opening up at every turn. Lunch stops along the banks of the N'Fiss Reservoir, where the short option ends for the day. Those ready for more continue climbing deeper into the Atlas, the altitude hard-won and worth every pedal stroke, before arriving at Kasbah Angour, a Berber-style hilltop property perched high above the valleys. Dinner together at the hotel caps the day, stories shared and every climb well earned.

Climb to Tadmamt through Berber hillside villages
Overview
Today's route climbs immediately from the hotel onto smooth gravel, heading into the high terrain above the Oued Rheraya valley toward the tiny village of Tadmamt. The ascent is consistent and demanding, a steady 5% grade for 11 miles through isolated mountain terrain with sweeping views across the Atlas ridgeline and deep river valleys below. You may share the road with little more than a passing mule or a Berber shepherd moving between the hillside villages that cling to these slopes. After a casual picnic lunch, the descent back to Kasbah Angour on pavement is the payoff, flowing switchbacks all the way down that make you wish the road would never end. This evening brings a private Moroccan cooking demonstration at the hotel, uncovering the spices and slow-cooking techniques behind the tagine, the beloved mainstay of Moroccan cuisine. Afterward, sit down together to enjoy this expertly prepared dish. Rest up tonight—tomorrow brings another big day in the Atlas.

Cross the Atlas and ride into ancient Taroudant
Overview
After breakfast, a three-hour shuttle carries you west from the High Atlas to Argana, where the landscape shifts entirely, the cool mountain world giving way to sun-baked ochre valleys and wide desert sky. From Argana, clip in for an 11-mile paved climb with sweeping views across the Souss Valley before the road turns to gravel for the second half. Lunch is along the way before the final miles bring you into Taroudant and your hotel. Often called the Grandmother of Marrakech, this walled city has guarded the entrance to the Souss Valley for over a thousand years, its rose-pink ramparts, traditional tanneries, and labyrinthine market streets still very much alive. Settle into Dar Alhossoun, a garden property set among palms at the city's edge, before heading into town on foot. Discover the ancient medina for dinner on your own tonight.

Uncover the geological wonder of the Anti-Atlas
Overview
After a 45-minute shuttle into the heart of the Anti-Atlas, today's loop ride places you in one of the most geologically extraordinary landscapes in Morocco. The Anti-Atlas Mountains are among the oldest rock formations on the planet, remnants of the ancient Gondwana supercontinent and geologically linked to the same rock that forms the Appalachians, a thought worth sitting with as you roll through rugged red and ochre peaks. Your route winds across dry riverbeds, known locally as oueds, and through isolated villages where communal granaries called agadirs have stored the mountain harvests of these communities for centuries. Argan trees line the slopes throughout, the source of an oil pressed here and nowhere else, their silvery canopy a quiet constant as the loop unfolds. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route before a one-hour shuttle returns you to Taroudant for a final dinner in the old city, raising a glass to the road less traveled.

Follow the argan groves to the Atlantic
Overview
Your final riding day carries you through one of Morocco's most fertile landscapes, tracing the Souss Valley westward as argan forests and citrus groves line the route and the Atlas Mountains gradually recede behind you, a quiet farewell from the peaks that defined your week. The valley has been the breadbasket of southern Morocco for millennia, and the route passes through small farming towns and roadside markets alive with the sights and smells of the season's harvest—a great moment to stop and enjoy lunch together. The gravel smooths as the land falls toward the coast, the Atlantic announcing itself just before you roll into Agadir and your luxury beachfront hotel. Tonight, gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate the week and the road that brought you here.
