We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your Tour de France bike tour, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Geneva (GVA). From the airport trains run every 15 minutes to Corvain train station and the city center. A taxi will cost you approximately 28 Swiss Francs (CHF) or 40€. Train schedules are available and tickets can be booked directly online at www.trainline.com or by using our recommended travel agent services.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Geneva Corvain train station (Pl. de Cornavin 7, 1201 Genève, Switzerland) at 11:00 AM on the first day of the trip. After shuttling into France by private coach, your Tour de France vacation begins! Enjoy lunch as your guides outline the week ahead then fit you to your Trek bike. If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip starts with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Hôtel Royal in Évian-les-Bains (+33 4 50 26 85 00) and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. You may take a taxi to the first night’s hotel for approximately 300€.

You will say farewell to your guides at 10:00 AM at Hotel de Crillon with a check out by 12:00 PM. Please make your own onward travel arrangements to the airport, train station, or other destination of your choice.

After a one hour private shuttle, your race experience begins in the lakeside town of Évian-les-Bains, set along the shores of Lac Léman. The city buzzes with anticipation for Stage 16—the individual time trial of the Tour de France. Enjoy lunch, then head to the Lidl-Trek team hotel for exclusive behind-the-scenes access, including a Q&A with team representatives and, if race regulations allow, a look inside the team bus as mechanics prepare the pros’ bikes. Afterward, return to Hotel Royal, your home for the next two nights, where your guides will fit you to your Trek bike and prepare you for tomorrow’s warm-up ride. Settle in with an aperitif as you learn about the exciting days ahead before enjoying a delicious alpine dinner. Rest well—tomorrow brings live race action at the ITT!

Overview
Today delivers a true King or Queen of the Mountains test as you take on two of the Alps’ most revered climbs—both featured in this year’s Stage 20. Choose to ride from our hotel, or hop in the van to Villar d’Arene for a boost towards the summit. You’ll approach from the opposite side of the race, starting with the Col du Lautaret, a high pass crossed more than 40 times in Tour history and guaranteed to get the legs firing. From there, continue upward to nearly 8,600 feet (2,621 m) atop the Col du Galibier, a monumental ascent that’s defined over a century of Tour de France drama. Your guides will provide support, snacks, and Tour-style encouragement as you power through each switchback with pro-level determination. After lunch, enjoy the sweeping descent and either shuttle or ride back up to Les Deux Alpes. Back at the hotel, recover and catch the sprint finish into Orcières-Merlette on TV—there’s sure to be a fierce fight for yellow. Tonight, we’ll stroll into town and enjoy a relaxed dinner before tomorrow’s live race action on Alpe d’Huez.
