Meet Thomas English, Trek Travel Guide

Thomas English

What I Love:

Finding that piece of Extra in the Ordinary! Sharing the outdoors with quality people, discovering and learning about new things, experiencing other cultures. Hiking, cooking and laughing, campfires, good music and stories, photography and astonishing Mother Nature, trail running and adventure. And a lot of cycling!

Riding with TT Since:

2019

Trek Travel Role:

Guide

My Favorite Ride:

Any new ride is my favourite! It's all about that endless exploring feel! Summer bike-packing with friends from one valley to the next, on those single trails, exposed ridge rides and mountain huts. Going through perched villages, feeding on local cheese and homemade cereal bars to finish the day off with a proper cold brew and view. (Dolomites, French Alps and Pyrenees)

My Rides:

A Road Bike, a Mountain Bike and a Unicycle (but that counts for half a bike and twice the fun)

Nickname:

Toto, Tom, ET (as in "Phone Home"), Goat and open to any suggestions

Mechanical Engineering and Medical Imaging

Current Home:

French Alps

Languages:

English, French, a little Spanish, an inch of Swahili, "The International Try Your Best Language"

In My Previous Life:

Born in Kenya, sailed the Mediterranean Sea for three years and somehow ended up living in the French Alps working hard as a medical imaging engineer during the week and doing anything outdoors on the weekend or in my free time.
