2026 Guest Gift Options: Designed With Purpose

At Trek Travel, every detail of your trip is designed around you — and this year, that personalized experience starts with your gift. When you book your trip, you’ll now choose your guest gift directly in the Guest Portal. You can select a Trek Travel Cycling Jersey with a luggage tag, a Trek Travel Hiking Tech Tee with a luggage tag, or you can choose to opt out entirely.

When you opt out, something meaningful happens. Instead of producing and shipping gear, we support reforestation in Honduras through the La Mosquitia Reforestation Project, co-designed with the Indigenous Miskito community. Through our partner Klimate, we purchase high‑quality carbon credits that help restore native forests and build long-term climate resilience in a region where this work truly matters. Each opt-out supports the removal of approximately 0.5 tonnes of carbon and contributes to improving biodiversity and ecosystem health.

La Mosquitia Reforestation Project

La Mosquitia is one of Central America’s most ecologically significant landscapes — remote, biodiverse, and essential to global climate health.

This project isn’t a generic offset program. It restores degraded land using native tree species, strengthens ecosystems, and prioritizes community-led stewardship. Working closely with the Miskito community, the project supports biodiversity, enhances resilience, and delivers long-lasting local benefits.

Choosing to opt out is a powerful way to support sustainability. At the same time, we know many guests appreciate a useful keepsake from their trip — something they’ll grab for adventures long after they’ve returned home. That’s what led us to reimagine one of the most-used items on every Trek Travel trip: the day bag.

What’s New for 2026: Updated Day Bags

We’ve always provided day bags for use on trip, but this year, we set out to create one you’d actually want to keep using once you’re back home.

Our new bags were designed with our partner MaCher, a company deeply committed to sustainable design. They’re more durable, more comfortable, and more likely to become part of your everyday life or your gear for future travels.

You’ll notice upgraded materials, wider straps for comfort, and a zippered pocket for essentials. The zipper pull is designed to be easily labeled with a luggage tag, so no more writing directly on the bag. The fabric is made from recycled polyester sourced from discarded plastic bottles, and MaCher has already offset the emissions from production.

We hope these improvements inspire you to keep using your new day bag long after your adventure ends, and maybe even bring it along on your next Trek Travel trip.
