Trip of a Lifetime
Review by Lynsey T. on 6 Oct 2024 review stating Trip of a Lifetime
This was our first Trek Travel trip and it exceeded all of my expectations from start to finish. My husband and I are both avid travelers so I was concerned that doing a tour like this wouldn’t be an authentic experience, but I was so wrong. Carla and Alvaro, our guides, thought of every detail and do a beautiful job of scouting out the perfect ri...Read More
des, coffee stops, restaurants, etc. They’re both Spanish and extremely knowledgeable about the areas the tour covered.
Some highlights for us were:
Andalucia is a very special area and holds so much beauty. I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire week as I took it all in.
La Bobadilla (the first hotel on the tour) is truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. It felt like a dream.
The Anis museum and tapas lunch was incredible. The ambiance and food were top notch.
The 6 course wine paired lunch at Cafe Bar Polear was exceptional. We’re from NYC, so we’re tough critics when it comes to food and this lunch was truly spectacular from start to finish.
Ronda is such a special place and we really enjoyed exploring and also learning more about the history of the city from our walking tour guide, Jesus.
And of course, riding with our new friends was something we’ll never forget! We were lucky to have a great group with us and our incredible guides. This is a trip I’ll never forget and we’re already planning our next Trek Travel trip. Thank you so much Carla & Alvaro for making this a trip of a lifetime for us! Read Less

Immersive cycling in Andalucía
Review by Sebastien on 5 Oct 2024 review stating Immersive cycling in Andalucía
From the moment we met our guides, Carla y Álvaro, we could tell Spain and cycling are both in their blood. They were fountains of cultural information and allowed to get much more acquainted with the area than we ever could have as solo travellers. The recently added tour of the Anis Museum, tapas at a private UNESCO garden were the proprietor in...Read More
vites guests into his home, and the best coffee I’ve had in Spain in a tiny village café where the menu was tantalizing, are all examples of the amazing experience that we had. The flamenco show, taking place in a family run bar-cum-restaurant-cum-cinema on a stage our guides procured themselves, was another great highlight. But this is also a cycling vacation, and the routes were also top-notch. Riding most of the time on quiet country and mountain roads, we never had to worry about traffic (Spaniards are particularly respectful of cyclists). The climbs were great for new-comers on Domane+ and a reasonable challenge on the “acoustic” Domane. The descents were awesome for all. The scenery, from olive tree groves, to wild pigs and horses, to crossing paths with a herd of sheep, to one early foggy mountain ride, was simply beautiful.
Take this trip with Carla and Álvaro, you won’t regret it. Read Less

Outstanding cycling in Andalucia
Review by Miriam on 5 Oct 2024 review stating Outstanding cycling in Andalucia
As others have mentioned, the bikes were always ready and everything meticulously prepared so that anything forgotten or needed was quickly provided. The cycling was amazing and the accommodation and meals all of high quality. Carla and Alvaro with a call to their “people”, led us on routes with minimal traffic, breathtaking scenery, and a combina...Read More
tion of climbs in the mountains, long descents, and rolling terrain through forests or farmland. The dynamic duo made the trip special with their enthusiasm for cycling and love for sharing their culture. The new routes with stops at the Museum Anis and unforgettable lunch in Anselmo’s beautiful courtyard (an Andalusian “patio” now recognized by UNESCO) were surprising and special. Carla and Alvaro’s attentiveness to the group and ability to change up the route or add a surprise anniversary cake at the last minute added joie de vivre and spontaneity that I did not expect.
