What Guests are Saying
The routes were fantastic. Each day accounted for multiple variables that showed an attention to detail on behalf of the staff. We really enjoyed day two completing the Avid ride through the Prosecco region which had multiple rolling hills but beautiful scenery through the country in multiple towns. For the third day through Bassano, we opted for an alternative ride which was an option loaded to the GPS to climb Mount Grappa. It was the highlight of the trip for my wife and I. Truly spectacular.

Alessandro was an excellent host. He had the bikes available and in excellent condition, and the routes were wonderfully varied. Alessandro even provided a bonus epic climb to replace or add to any planned day’s ride, and it was phenomenal. He was friendly and engaging.

I want to reiterate how excellent the routes were. My husband and I did the avid routes when available, and we enjoyed all of them! A particularly memorable stop was the lunch at Osteria Senz'Oste. That’s just one out of many memorable stops/routes that we would have never have found on our own!

Great Ride
Monte Grappa Loop
Experience Great Ride #11 on our List of Great Global Rides! Considered one of the most beautiful and challenging climbs in Italy, this is a "must-do" for any cycling fan.
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Venice, Marco Polo Airport (VCE) and rent a car for the duration of the trip. Most major rental car companies are available at VCE. Advance booking is recommended. If you are not renting a car, you can take a taxi at the airport (taxis are readily available at the arrival area). You can also book a private transfer ahead of time with our local trustworthy driver, Luca. Our Trip Consultant can provide you with his contact information. A transfer by private shuttle from Venice Marco Polo Airport to Asolo takes from 60 to 90 minutes depending on traffic and costs about 150€.
If you are going to spend some time in Venice before the trip starts, there are many options to get into central Venice from the airport, including bus, land taxi, or the famous water taxi. Land taxis outside the arrivals terminal are plentiful. Private water taxis cost approximately 80-120€. For bus service, the ATVO direct coach ( www.atvo.it) takes you directly to Piazzale Roma, the end of the road in historic Venice and the entrance to the Grand Canal, in 20 minutes for 6€
Your Trek Travel host will meet you at the Albergo Al Sole (Via Collegio, 33 – 31011 Asolo TV, Italy) at 11:00 AM on the first day of the trip. Depending on the number of guests booked for your departure date, it is possible we will ask you to shift your meeting time by approximately 30 minutes. Please have your riding gear readily accessible to avoid having to unpack your luggage. After a trip overview, you may change into your cycling gear where you will then be fitted to your Trek bike ensuring you will be comfortable for the week. Following a safety talk and a review of the details of the route, saddle up to begin the day's ride through the roads of Veneto.
If you will be late for meeting or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your Trek Travel host. If you cannot reach them, please call our hotel, Albergo Al Sole (+39 0423 951332) depending on your trip date, and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. A taxi from Venice to the hotel would cost approximately 150€.
Additional Departure Information
Your Trek Travel host will meet you at 11:00 AM at the trip hotel to take your bike and equipment and say farewell before your departure. If you wish to take a private shuttle to Venice Marco Polo Airport, we suggest you contact our local driver ahead of time to arrange the transfer. Our Trip Consultant can provide you with our recommended local contact information. The trip to the airport takes from 60 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. Please allow adequate connection time for any ongoing travel to accommodate possible traffic delays.

Take a stroll through its vibrant city center before crossing the old bridge—the Ponte Vecchio—the best-known monument in town. Originally designed by the visionary designer Andrea Palladio in 1569, this bridge is made entirely of wood and is considered an engineering masterpiece hard to replicate even with today’s technology. If you want to mingle with the locals, pay a visit to the most ancient distillery called Nardini. Next, we suggest you visit the medieval walled town of Marostica, characterized by a lower and an upper castle connected by walls that flow down the hillside. Follow your route all the way to the piazza, the hub of life in Marostica, which boasts a gigantic chessboard at its center. Every other September, locals dress in period costume and perform a human chess game as living pawns in the town square. Soak in the atmosphere of the medieval times as you savor a creamy gelato at the caffè centrale before cycling back to Asolo!Read More

Before and After Your Trip
Venice, Italy
Whether you’ve never been to Venice or have been there 20 times, there’s always something new to discover. Indeed, even the most seasoned visitors get lost in the city’s labyrinthine network of islands, bridges, pedestrian alleys, and canals. And therein lies the beauty of the destination: afternoons spent wandering from palace to piazza, exploring the small art museums, shopping the stalls that line the streets, and encountering a fresh side of Venice, a fascinating amalgamation of influences—Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and Italian—every time you round a corner. The UNESCO World Heritage site comprises the city of Venice and its lagoon situated in the Veneto Region of northeast Italy. Founded in the fifth century and spread over 118 small islands, Venice became a major maritime power in the 10th century. The whole city is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece in which even the smallest building contains works by some of the world’s greatest artists. We recommend the following accommodations for your pre- and post-trip hotel:
Where to Stay
Oltre Il Giardino
The house, which once belonged to Alma Mahler, a composer’s widow who lived there in the 1920s, lies next to a small canal just a stone’s throw from the Church of the Frari and has now been turned into an exclusive but home-like retreat. This enchanting place in the heart of Venice offers something unique to those visiting the city. Having only six rooms, it is quite like a guest house, but with the utmost focus on luxury. The garden, with its olive trees, magnolia, and pomegranate, is an oasis of peace and tranquility, and it provides the possibility to relax amidst its green and embrace well being.

Hotel Antiche Figure
This quaint hotel occupies a fabulous 15th-century palazzo overlooking Venice’s Grand Canal, adjacent to an ancient Gondola workshop. The hotel takes its name from the Renaissance frescos of "antique figures" that once adorned its facade. This historic setting provides the perfect venue from which to explore and to experience the true Venice and the perpetual dialogue between present and past, ancient and modern. Conveniently located across from the railway station and water taxis, it’s also within walking distance to most points of interest.

Hotel Dòna Palace
In the romantic atmosphere of the Bacino Orseolo, you’ll discover this charming boutique hotel, Hotel Dòna Palace. Enjoy luxury accommodation with refreshingly intimate, quiet ambiance only steps away from St. Marks Square overlooking a canal.
