Activity Level: Level 3
Terrain: Hilly
Across Istria in Slovenia and Croatia, the terrain is rarely flat—especially once you leave the coast—with rolling hills and rewarding descents throughout your rides. Most routes follow quiet country roads with minimal traffic, though you’ll occasionally ride short stretches on busier roads.
Our Slovenia to Croatia bike tour is best suited for our Level 3 riders. Our Trek Travel guides can also accommodate Level 2 riders, who seek less mileage or fewer uphills, with a boost in the van. For those eager to experience every mile but mindful of their physical limits, our electric bike option offers a comfortable and enjoyable solution. Level 4 riders will enjoy the extra mileage the avid route options offer.

On all Trek Travel trips, we offer suggestions for non-riding options for riders who want to take the afternoon off, or travel companions who want to spend little or no time in the saddle. Some of these options may need to be scheduled before your trip. Expenses and related transportation to these activities are not included in the trip price. Some non-riding options during on our Croatia bike tour are:
- Take a scenic boat cruise from Piran
- Enjoy a tour of Euphrasian Basilica, UNESCO World Heritage site
- Indulge in truffle, prosciutto, and wine tastings
- Take a relaxing spa day at either of our luxury accommodations
We've got you covered on and off the bike! Our team of guides will always have one in the support vehicle and one on the bike, ready to fill up your water bottle, fix a flat tire, or give you a lift up the hill. They'll also give you the inside scoop on the best local spots. And when you're not riding, your guides are happy to help with anything you need - from massage appointments to finding that special local treat you've been craving.
