Today, you’ll enjoy the spectacular riding right outside our hotel, whether you prefer a full day in the saddle or a more relaxed experience. Your day begins with a chance to conquer the renowned Col de Braus, which will be the inaugural major ascent of Stage 20 on this year's tour. This Category 1 climb spans six miles (almost 10 kilometers) and has an average gradient of 6.3%. As you ascend, soak in panoramic views of the Alpes-Maritimes and maybe catch glimpses... Today, you’ll enjoy the spectacular riding right outside our hotel, whether you prefer a full day in the saddle or a more relaxed experience. Your day begins with a chance to conquer the renowned Col de Braus, which will be the inaugural major ascent of Stage 20 on this year's tour. This Category 1 climb spans six miles (almost 10 kilometers) and has an average gradient of 6.3%. As you ascend, soak in panoramic views of the Alpes-Maritimes and maybe catch glimpses of the ancient Route Royale, the historic salt road that once connected Nice to Piedmont. After reaching the summit, follow the racecourse for a thrilling descent to Sospel, where we'll regroup and have lunch at a Provencal-style bistro. In the afternoon, you can either take the van back to our hotel and relax on the private beach or continue your day of riding by conquering the Col de Castillon, looping you back to our hotel. This climb is famously used as a training ground for the pros to test their fitness level before embarking on a grand tour.
