On-Trip Safety Measures

For over 20 years, Trek Travel has been committed to guest safety. It’s this commitment that allows us to deliver wow moments without worry.  And in today’s ever-changing health environment, our focus remains on providing exceptional hospitality and showing you the world by bike in a responsible way that keeps the health of our guests and guides the priority.

Healthy Travel Starts Here

  • We recommend wearing a mask while en route to our trips, including on flights and public transit. Let’s arrive healthy together so we can enjoy the rides!
  • For all guests, we highly suggest adding travel protection to your trip, which can help cover costs when something unexpected happens while traveling. You can reach out to guestservices@trektravel.com if you would like to add a travel protection plan to your booking. You can do so up until 10 days before you travel.

For the remaining 2024 trips, if a guest experiences symptoms of COVID-19, RSV, or other respiratory illness on trip, they have the following options:

  1. Should a guest choose to continue to travel while symptomatic, they (and their travel partner(s)) will be required to mask indoors, in vehicles, and during group activities. They will also be asked to dine separately from the group with their travel partner.
  2. Trek Travel can assist the guest [and travel partner(s)] in leaving the trip by filing a Travel Protection Claim and/or connecting guests to our travel services partners to arrange alternative plans.

Prepared Guides

  • There’s a reason why the best part of every Trek Travel trip is the guides. Trek Travel guides are true professionals and prepared for any situation with safety protocols and a communication plan.
  • All Trek Travel guides are certified in First Aid, CPR, and bike mechanic training, and they are up to date on CDC sanitation guidelines to best support our guests while traveling.
  • Trek Travel guides will complete a self-health check before every trip.

Bontrager Wavecel Helmet

Created by a team of doctors, researchers, and engineers, WaveCel protects your head and absorbs the energy created by an angled impact. As a result, WaveCel has been shown in a recent study to be up to 48x more effective than traditional foam helmets in protecting your head from injuries caused by certain cycling accidents.
