Matahari Beach Resort

Jalan Raya Seririt, Gilimanuk

The name Matahari comes from the Indonesian language and means "Eye of the Day“ referring to the sun. In Indonesian mythology the sun always plays a positive role and here in the North-Western part of Bali it treats the resort in a very special way. The high mountain ranges to the South protect the resort from the main winds and, even during the rain period from November to February a distinctly higher sun shine rate can be enjoyed compared to the South of the island. Nestled away between the Bali Barat National Park and the Java Sea, the secluded and exclusive Matahari Beach Resort & Spa is a perfect destination for connoisseurs of luxury and relaxation.

Our itineraries are an approximation of our trips. Trek Travel strives to offer each and every guest a vacation of a lifetime on every trip. At times routes, hotels, activities, etc. listed here may change at the discretion of the trip designer or guides to improve the trip experience.

On all of our vacations, Trek Travel strives to find quiet, paved secondary roads or bike paths to experience a region; busy roads are avoided as much as possible. Bali is best suited for our Type 1 and 2 Riders. Our Trek Travel guides can also easily accommodate Type 1 Riders, who seek less mileage or fewer uphills, with a boost in the van. Those who wish to ride every mile but are concerned about their physical ability may want to try our electric bike option–you still get a workout but can climb alongside even the strongest rider. Type 2 Riders will enjoy the extra mileage the avid route options offer. The terrain is mostly flat, some rolling hills. Overall the terrain is moderate and varied along riverbanks. Some roads are paved while others are dirt making the Trek mountain bikes the best equipped for the region. See Itinerary for specific daily ride distance and elevation options.
