Same incredible trips. Enhanced Standards.

We are committed to keeping guests healthy and having fun on trips, and our team is excited to continue safely showing you the world by bike. We’ve built in flexibility every step of the way, from our cancellation policy to our on-trip dining, transfers, and activities. Our team remains focused on providing exceptional hospitality and safety on every trip we run in 2021 and 2022. Below are just a few ways that Trek Travel is preparing for your wellbeing, so you can enjoy the cycling vacation of a lifetime.

To continue to provide the experience that Trek Travel is known for, we are no longer able to accommodate unvaccinated guests on our trips. Please note that beginning September 26, 2021, Trek Travel will require all guests 12 and older to be fully vaccinated and to carry proof of their vaccination with them for 2021 and 2022 departures.

On-Trip Safety Measures

Trek Travel is actively monitoring and implementing guidelines recommended by health officials, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

  • Vaccination: Beginning September 26, 2021, Trek Travel will require all guests 12 and older to be fully vaccinated and to carry proof of their vaccination with them for 2021 and 2022 departures*. (*Some exceptions apply. Please contact our team to learn more.) 100% of our North American guides are vaccinated, and our European guides are being vaccinated as soon as they are eligible.
  • COVID Testing: Non-vaccinated guests with an exemption are required to complete a COVID test 72 hours prior to traveling with us.
  • Trek Travel has PCR COVID testing kits available for necessary testing during North American trips if local testing options are not available.
  • Health Questionnaire: We will require all guests to complete a pre-trip health questionnaire regarding potential COVID exposure.
  • All guests and guides will have their temperature taken on the first day of the trip. If a guest starts experiencing symptoms during the trip, their temperature will be taken again. If a guest has a fever of over 100 degrees, they will be asked to isolate at the hotel and our guides will provide information on the nearest medical facility to seek further evaluation.
  • Safety Measures: While we will not require masks outdoors, Trek Travel guests and guides will be required to wear face coverings in vans and other transportation vehicles. We will follow local restrictions and guidelines for mask use indoors.

Social at a Distance

Social at a Distance

  • We have always valued small group travel. Trek Travel trips average 12 guests per trip, with a max of 24. Small group travel allows flexibility for comfortable distance at meals, route and safety talks, and transports.
  • We will communicate your group size 30 days before your trip and a week prior to your trip. We’re always just a short phone call away for any questions regarding your trip or group size.
  • We will dine with your comfort in mind. Small groups, outdoor dining, or a private table? We can make it happen. We are working with restaurants to create a comfortable, safe dining environment so you can relax and savor the local flavors.
  • Our famous Trek Travel picnics are a guest favorite. There will be slight changes to how we prepare and serve, but one thing that won’t change are the epic views while you dine!

Cleanliness You Can Count On

  • Trek Travel is taking our standard cleaning to new levels with deep cleaning of equipment each day. This includes disinfecting all bikes and accessories and following CDC guidelines.
  • We’ll be disinfecting our vans each day and will wipe down high touch points to make sure that they are sparkling clean, ready to take you on your day’s adventure, or boost you on your ride.
  • Our hotel, restaurant, and activity partners are working with us on extensive cleaning protocols and checklists. We are communicating in advance about our requirements and will address COVID-19 specific policies at our final pre-trip meeting to ensure standards are being met.

Prepared Guides

Prepared Guides

  • 100% of our North American guides are already vaccinated, and our European guides are receiving vaccinations as soon as they are eligible.
  • There’s a reason why the best part of every Trek Travel trip is the guides. Trek Travel guides are true professionals and prepared for any situation with safety protocols and a communication plan.
  • All Trek Travel guides are certified in First Aid, CPR, and bike mechanic training, and they are up to date on CDC sanitation guidelines to best support our guests while traveling.
  • Trek Travel guides will complete a self health check before every trip, including their temperature check.
  • Our guides are happy to serve guests by completing food prep and filling water bottles wearing gloves and masks.

Face Covering Info

  • Trek Travel is strongly encouraging all guests to bring their own face coverings on trip. Guests should always have a face covering readily available to wear when needed.
  • While we will not require masks outdoors, we will continue to follow local restrictions and guidelines for mask use indoors. We ask that all guests remain flexible, respectful, and courteous of other guests and staff at restaurants, hotels, etc. regardless of their vaccination status.
  • Face coverings will be required in all Trek Travel vans and other transportation vehicles.
  • Face coverings must cover both nose and mouth to help protect yourself and others.

Ride the all-new Domane Disc on a Trek Travel bike tour

“From the guides, to the scenery, the dining, and co-guests, this was a great trip! Excellent riding options with challenging climbs, amazing views, and a wealth of memories. Crater Lake was stunning, cycling through the lava flows of McKenzie pass was otherworldly, and the mix of alpine and high-desert was really cool. Perfect weather, perfect riding, and perfect guides. Lodging was excellent – especially the peaceful and relaxing setup at FivePine. Do not let the current COVID-19 situation make you feel that a Trek Travel experience will somehow be less than before – this was my ninth trip with Trek, and this trip was as good as any that I have done prior. Trek Travel really is a step ahead of the rest with planning, processes, and execution. Their work with local companies and jurisdictions, combined with the covid-related processes put into place for cleaning, health checks, and sanitization, deliver an as safe as possible experience in today’s climate. Well done!”
