From tulips and windmills in the Netherlands to beer and chocolate in Belgium, experience the wonder of both countries on our Amsterdam to Bruges bike tour.

Welcome to Trek Travel’s latest adventure, cycling between the sophisticated city of Amsterdam in the Netherlands and the charming town of Bruges in Belgium. Both are cycling capitals, built to be seen by bike; speckled with tulips, bisected by quiet canals lined with windmills, and bursting with spring flowers deep into the summertime. You’ll be guided by medieval architecture and history as you navigate green pastures past the homes of Rembrandt and Vermeer and weave in and out of small villages that are wrapped in folklore. At the same time, a storied past has left a notable mark on the Low Countries, and you’ll experience it all, biking along the coast to see the Raversyde Atlantic Wall Museum and more. While the fascinating history of the region will have you enthralled, there will also be plenty of time to sample the greatest parts of contemporary cultural delights, too. Is there anything better than chocolate, cheese, beer, and bikes? Join us and find out!

Trip Wows
  • Ride through fields of tulips and admire beautiful spring colors at the renowned Keukenhof Park, the Garden of Europe

  • Learn all about the history of windmills and life on the coast at the UNESCO World heritage site of Kinderdijk

  • Cycle through the famous Cheese Valley and visit the picturesque towns of Edam and Gouda

  • Visit the oldest family-owned brewery in Bruges, dating back to the 16th century, and taste the famous Brugse Zot beer

  • Explore the Atlantikwall Open Air Museum in Raversyde, part of a 3,100-mile defensive line that included bunkers and underground passageways

Two women sitting in an oversized wooden Dutch clog.

Although we've been to almost all of these locales, we chose this trip because we know Trek Travel does a great job. The trip did not disappoint! Even though it was chilly and we had a day of rain, the excellent guides made sure we had a great time. We kept saying, "This was the best day," then the next day would top it. Riding in the Netherlands is a dream, and the activities were top-notch.

Know Before You Go!

We want you to be fully prepared for your cycling vacation of a lifetime. This involves making sure that you choose the appropriate trip for you and that every aspect of your experience is flawless. Each Trek Travel trip is unique to ensure maximum enjoyment every time.

Your Trip Need to Knows:

  • Spring time in the Netherlands and Belgium can sometimes be windy, rainy, and cold. Do not forget to pack your layers, as well as rain gear and a wind shell. Also consider bringing warm gloves for the rides.
  • Please note that trips starting after May 12th won’t go to Keukenhof because the garden is closing for the year on that date. While there will be other flowers, tulip season will be over by mid May.
  • Be aware that your international credit card might not be accepted everywhere in the Netherlands. Make sure to have some cash on you just in case.
  • Dinners in the Netherlands and Belgium can sometimes take longer than you might be accustomed to but don’t let that discourage you! This allows you time to enjoy the delicious and carefully-prepared cuisine at a leisurely pace.
