Overall an amazing experience made even better by fun and experienced guides. Very impressed with the variety of scenery and particularly enjoyed the flexibility of deciding on the length of the day as we went along as they all followed the same route.

Couple standing in front of river with Durnstein behind

Slowing down and actually seeing the countryside is the best way to explore. The history and architecture were around every curve and winding road. The castles and cathedrals are breathtaking. The meandering Danube is spellbinding. We loved the trip.

Group standing in front of castle ruins

I really enjoyed the tour of Cesky Krumlov, the town guide was very knowledgeable, and the visit to the Nikolaihof winery. Lots of cool history in those places and it’s good to get to know more about them when one is in the area. It’s what makes tours of these regions complete.

Know Before You Go!

We want you to be fully prepared for your cycling vacation of a lifetime. This involves making sure that you choose the appropriate trip for you and that every aspect of your experience is flawless. Each Trek Travel trip is unique to ensure maximum enjoyment every time.

Your Trip Need to Knows:

  • Accommodation: On this trip we stay two nights in the heart of Český Krumlov, one night in a former castle on the Austrian countryside and two nights in the center of the medieval town of Dürnstein. These hotels are housed in historical buildings and do not have air conditioning. While the guest rooms are cozy, they are relatively smaller and less lavish than the typical Trek Travel accommodations. However, we’ve selected these properties due to their great locations and distinct historical charm.
  • When exploring the Czech Republic, remember that the local currency is the Czech Koruna (CZK). While many places accept cards, some smaller shops and cafes are cash only. We recommend having some CZK on hand.
  • Please note that European dinners might take longer than what you are used to. This allows you to enjoy the delicious local cuisine at a leisurely pace and creates a relaxed, social atmosphere.
