Standing directly on the Plaza del Obradoiro opposite the Cathedral, the Parador de Santiago was built in 1501 as a Royal Hospital to receive pilgrims at the end of their Camino. Its Plateresque façade, four stone cloisters, and vaulted corridors have remained largely unchanged for five centuries, making it as much a monument as a place to stay.
