Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one or two days prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone (GMT-3) and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We also recommend a minimum of three hours for connecting flights within Chile. Please book your flights into Temuco Airport/La AraucanÃa International Airport (ZCO). The official shuttle company at Temuco’s Airport is called TransAraucania. They are the only authorized shuttle company at the airport, and their staff wears a blue and green uniform. TransAraucania has transportation available every day and are ready to meet all domestic flights. They are located in the airport, next to the automatic doors at baggage claim. TransAraucania offers regular shuttles to Pucón at 15.000 CLP (USD $15 per person), with a minimum of four people. Under four passengers, a private shuttle can be arranged for 100.000 CLP (USD $100 per vehicle). Vehicles are readily available. We recommend arranging your shuttle upon arrival at the airport. Cash (in Chilean pesos) and credit cards are accepted. The ATMs are on the second floor. All shuttle services will drop you off at the hotel or address you are staying in Pucón. Driving time is approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you in the main lobby of Hotel Antumalal in Pucón (Camino Pucón a Villarrica Km.2, Pucón, AraucanÃa) at 9:00 AM on the first day of the trip. Please come dressed in your cycling clothes with your riding gear easily accessible, separate from your main luggage. We encourage you to come dressed in your cycling clothes and comfortable walking shoes due to limited facilities in which to change at our ride start location. A 30-minute shuttle will take you to your first destination near Caburgua Lake. You will receive a personal bike fit to ensure a smooth and comfortable ride, then your guides will present information on safety and equipment usage along with an overview of the day’s ride. Next, you will set out for a ride to Caburgua Lake and Huife Hot Springs.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Hotel Antumalal (+56 45 244 1011), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details.
Please note: On select dates in 2025 your first hotel and meeting location will be the Hotel Casa Solaria (Lincoyán 48, Pucón, AraucanÃa, +56 45 274 5600) in Pucón. All other travel details remain the same.
Additional Departure Information
You will depart from Hotel Awa at 11:00 AM and transfer to the Puerto Montt Airport (El Tepual International Airport - PMC) where you will bid your guides farewell. You will arrive at approximately 12:00 PM. From Puerto Montt Airport, there are regular connections to Santiago, where you can connect to your home airport. Please do not schedule a flight out less than 90 minutes before your arrival time to allow plenty of time for any unforeseen delays.
