Conquer Rocacorba—the Queen Stage
Overview
Start your day with a strong coffee and a hearty breakfast before tackling the queen stage of your trip. Today’s route winds through the quiet Catalan countryside, past stone farmhouses, gentle waterways, and the town of Banyoles, where the 1992 Barcelona Olympic rowing events were held. Refuel with coffee and cake before taking on one of Girona’s most iconic climbs—Rocacorba. This winding 6-mile (10 km) ascent is a true test, but the sweeping views from the summit make every pedal stroke worthwhile. Prefer a steadier ride? Opt for the alternative route over La Mota and its punchy climbs before descending to a well-earned Catalan feast at a charming food truck in Canet d’Adri.
