We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your bike tour in Switzerland, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Zurich Airport (ZRH).
You can take a train from Zurich Airport directly to Lucerne's central train station. The trip takes about one hour and 15 minutes without any transfers. Our meeting and trip hotel is situated right opposite the train station. To get more information about getting to Zurich city center or Lucerne from the airport, check out the Swiss Federal Railways' website at www.sbb.ch/en and plan your journey with public transportation. We also highly recommend you download the SBB Mobile app. This is a very easy-to-use train ticket and journey planning app for Switzerland.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at Hotel Continental Park (Murbacherstrasse 4, 6002 Lucerne, Switzerland) at 9:30 AM on the first day of the trip. After a round of introductions your guides will give you specific information about riding bikes in Switzerland and do a bike fitting to ensure your comfort on your Trek bike this week. You'll then be ready to ride right from the hotel out of Lucerne, along rolling hills to the boat station in the town of Küssnacht. Please have your first day’s riding gear handy and separate from your other luggage to facilitate the bike fitting and ride.
If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Hotel Continental Park in Lucerne (+41 41 228 90 50) and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. The best way to reach our first hotel is by train.
