We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Paris (CDG) or Lyon (LYS). Trains depart Paris’ Gare de Lyon station daily for Grenoble with a travel time of 3-4 hours. Please consult www.trainline.com to review the train schedule and book a ticket ahead of time.
Buses depart Lyon's airport for Grenoble with a travel time of approximately 90 minutes. Please consult the BlaBlaCar bus webpage to review the bus schedule and book a ticket ahead of time.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Grenoble TGV train station (1 Place de la Gare, 38000 Grenoble, France) at 11:00 AM on the first day of the trip. After a 60 minute shuttle by private coach, your Tour de France vacation begins! Please have your first day’s riding gear handy and separate from your other luggage to facilitate the bike fitting and ride. Enjoy lunch as your guides outline the week ahead then fit you to your Trek bike. If you will be late for the pick-up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. You will receive an email a week before the trip starts with their names and contact details. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Au Chamois d'Or (+33 4 65 84 33 84) and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. You may take a taxi to the first night’s hotel for approximately 300€.

You will say farewell to your guides at 10:00 AM at the Mandarin Oriental with a check out by 12:00 PM. Please make your own onward travel arrangements to the airport, train station, or other destination of your choice.

Welcome to the Alps and the exciting final mountain stages of the 113th Tour de France! Your Trek Travel guides will meet you at the Grenoble TGV train station at 11:00 AM. After a 90-minute private shuttle, your race experience begins in Allemond, tucked in the heart of the French Alps. Enjoy a light lunch and thorough bike fitting on your Trek Domane, before heading out on a warm-up ride and your first taste of alpine grandeur—the Balcony Road ascent to Alpe d’Huez. This winding route hugs the mountainside high above the Oisans Valley, offering dramatic views of the snow-capped peaks and green valley below. At the top, you’ll arrive at your home for the next four nights, the Hotel Au Chamois d’Or, the perfect base for this week’s spectacular rides and live race action. Tonight, gather for a welcome social hour and dinner as you toast to the adventures ahead.

Tackle Alpine greats—Col du Glandon and Col de la Croix de Fer
Overview
Welcome to another day of thigh-burning climbs and exhilarating descents. Begin with an ascent taking in sweeping alpine views en route to the epic Col du Glandon, first appearing in the 1947 Tour de France. The climb begins at Lac du Verney and rises 3,770 feet (1,149 m) over 15 miles (24 km). At the summit, admire the dramatic scenery of this remote pass, open only from June to October. Your Trek Travel guides will have refreshments and snacks ready for a well-deserved break. If you’re feeling strong, continue to the summit of Col de la Croix de Fer, chosen as the first climb in this year’s Stage 20. After a satisfying mountain lunch, enjoy a thrilling descent to Allemond and then choose to shuttle back to our hotel or tackle the final climb back up to Alpe d’Huez. Back at the hotel, recover and catch the sprint finish into Orcières-Merlette on TV—there’s sure to be a fierce battle for yellow. This evening, relax and enjoy another alpine feast our hotel. Rest up—tomorrow brings live race action on the mountain!
