A Greener Water Bottle for Every Trek Travel Vacation

Beginning in 2025, Trek Travel made the switch to water bottles made from plantโ€‘based plastic. Because every Trek Travel guest has the chance to use and take home one of our bottles, it was important to us that this everyday item be created from lowerโ€‘emission materialsโ€”and that it remain fully recyclable through standard blueโ€‘bin recycling programs.

In the 2025 season, Trek Travel used the Elite Jet Green bottle for our European operations and the Trek Voda Bio-Bottle for trips in the U.S. and the rest of the world. For 2026, we are continuing with the Elite Jet Green in Europe and introducing a new partnership with mountainFLOW for bottles in the U.S. and internationally. Both bottles are made from bioplastic derived from sugarcane rather than petroleum, cutting carbon emissions associated with traditional plastic production.

A Greener Choice for Cyclists

Both the Elite Jet Green and mountainFLOW bottles are made from at least 94% plant-based materials and are 100% recyclable, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic bottles. They are completely BPAโ€‘free and perform just like a standard cycling bottleโ€”only with a gentler impact on the planet.

MountainFLOW, based in Colorado, is a Certified B Corporation, meaning they are legally committed to considering how their decisions affect workers, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment. Weโ€™re proud to partner with organizations whose values align with our own commitment to sustainability.

Join Us in Supporting a Greener Future

Plastic use remains a major environmental challenge. At Trek Travel, weโ€™re working to reduce our reliance on plastic by eliminating it wherever possible and choosing plantโ€‘based or recycled options when alternatives are needed. By choosing a bottle made from bioplastic, youโ€™re doing more than staying hydratedโ€”youโ€™re supporting a greener cycling experience.

These bottles complement Trek Travelโ€™s broader sustainability initiatives, which include ecoโ€‘friendly gear choices and carbonโ€‘conscious cycling tours.
